DIY: Will You Be My Senorita (Bridesmaid) Invitations w/Tutorial & Template!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I just finished some of my invitations to my ladies and I am really proud of how they came out. Figured I'd share with you gals and see your thoughts?

I knew that I wanted to ask my girls to be in my wedding in a special and memorable way. I struggled between doing something with photos and making a card…so in the end, I decided to do both! My Inspiration for some of the wording came from the link below:

Early on, I purchased turquoise silk boxes from another BDW Bride “DawnBuckley†who had actually purchased them from “Boston Bride 2009â€. I had no idea what I was going to use them for, but I loved them anyways.

After many ‘trial and errors†I came up with my invitation idea. I decided to make a booklet invite that contained a personalized letter to each lady. Then there was a “Will You Be My Senorita†section. I then included a poem that Bride “SMBride42012†had posted here: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/30208/will-you-be-my-bridesmaid-ideas/10

Each of the sections had a photo of me with them.

I created a template in Excel. (Took many tries and wasted sheets of copy paper). Then I just copied the template onto sheets within the workbook and customized the pages for each girl. I have an amazing HP printer we bought last year...GREAT purchase. I printed the template double sided. Then folded the paper lengthwise…

Then widthwise…

I used my paper cutter to cut the page in half (widthwise) ...

Then I was lazy again and used double sided tape to 'bind' the two pages together.

Senorita Cards

I made these cards using the scrap paper that I cut in half lengthwise. Then I folded them widthwise. For the plain cards, I painstakingly cut out motifs from other scrap paper to spruce them up…

From then on it was just a matter of adding the sticker letters and rhinestones.

All of this was then placed in a kraft box that was lined with gold tissue paper and then had a flower and tea light candle placed on tip. I made “gift tags†out of the leftover scrap paper.

I went a lil nuts with the purchases but I was able to use coupons and discount codes for most of them...

To be as helpful as possible, I am uploading a sample template. I changed the font to Century Gothic so that you would not run into any issues when it cam to opening the spreadsheet. I typed in Page numbers in orange that way you would have an idea of where the info would be once printed and cut. Please remove before you print. Feel free to change colors, font and wording. Hope this helps someone…

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
