Thanks for posting all those photos ladies!! I have been swayed...TTD session is a MUST :) :)

I was wondering though, did you guys get your hair/makeup done again the next day for the session? or did you go make-up-less (cause of the water shots)? Maybe your hair lasted well enough from the wedding the night before? Just trying to figure out the details!!

Thanks for all the inspiration everyone!

@katman- I haven't done a TTD with my dress (yet) but I did photograph one in Aruba and it was AWESOME. In terms of what to do about hair and make-up, have you thought about doing your TTD the morning of the day before your wedding? The bride I shot didn't do anything with make-up/elaborate hair because we were going into the ocean and it all would have come out anyways, but she did wear false eyelashes which made a huge difference. If you have a pair of falsies with you, definitely wear them! But I'd stay away from make-up because it'll just run when you get wet.

And if you do the TTD the day before your wedding (with an inexpensive "extra" dress, that is!) then you don't have to worry about getting up early the day after your wedding! PS- sunrise trash the dress sessions are SO AWESOME. If you can cajole your photographer into doing it, definitely go for it! Hope that helps!

I wasn't going to do a TTD session initially.  I keep thinking how could I destroy my dress?!  After seeing all of the pictures and thinking it through, we're going to have one!  I'm never going to wear the dress again, so why not make some unique memories for us to admire years later?  I'm nervous because I'm not a good swimmer, but I'm also excited to have these photos!

Thanks for the tips Abby. False eyelashes are a great idea (although I will have to learn to put them on...) Question...why is it that most people seem to do their TTD so early the morning after the wedding? There has to be a reason for this that I'm missing, lol. I will probably use the same dress I get married in, mostly to keep the luggage to a minimum ... another dress will just take up precious space haha.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
