Trash the Dress....yes or no???

Recommended Posts

I'm on the fence about this, but leaning more towards no TTD session. While I think it's a creative idea and all the pictures I've seen have been beautiful, I'm just not sure if I even want to do it. I have plenty of time to think about it, so who knows what the final decision will end up being.

I feel the same way you do. The pics of others are GORGEOUS, but I just don't think it's right for us. And that's ok of course. to each their own.

If you're a size 4 and super cute, it looks great, but that is not our circumstance. (I mean, we're cute and all, just not in I'd-like-to-be-photographed-half-naked-under-water-shape) There's no way my fiance and I would even be able to keep a straight face, b/c we know it would look ridiculous. And who would we show the photos to? No one wants to see two chub-a-dubs rolling around in the sand with wet clothes trying to be sexy. I promise you...NO ONE wants to see that.

At first I wasn't sure as I definitley can't afford to buy 2 dresses, but this thread changed my mind!  These pics are so amazing and like many of you said, it really doesn't "trash" the dress anymore than normal wear & tear on your wedding day/night.

Question though - is it that much more expensive to add on? I haven't even begun to look at photographers yet as I still haven't picked my resort, but will definintely want to include.  Especially since we havent and dont plan on doing engagement pictures.

Thanks again!!!  smile159.gif

It really depends on the photographer. Some photographers have packages that include it, since so many brides like it.

Mine is not including it in a package, but he includes a videographer, so we are just shuffling plans. The only places we were spending money not part of our wedding package was photos and a video (and attire), so it is worth it in our minds. The worst part is adding on another day pass for our photographer.

We didn't do regular engagement shots either. FI's mom used to be a photographer; she took a few pictures for us in the woods by their home. I am going to get my mom or sister to take some on my parents' farm too, but neither has any photography experience, so I am sending them a bunch of pictures for inspiration and just going to cross my fingers.

I just think, you can always get pictures taken together. When else can you take pictures in the ocean and on the beach together in your wedding clothes?

"You can always get pictures taken together" - so TRUE!!!

and my FI's step-mom is a photography teacher at a local high school, so I contemplated asking her to take some engagement shots, just havent yet.  FI broke his foot the day after christmas, so we've been dealing with that situation ...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
