Trash the Dress....yes or no???

Recommended Posts

I can't wait for our pictures in October! My husband and I will be taking them during our honeymoon in Cancun. cheesy.gif We eloped so I didn't get the pretty dress - so for this I'm buying an inexpensive dress from DB's and this way we'll still get these great pictures with an amazing backdrop!

For those of you who don't want to ruin your dresses - have you considered getting knockoffs from sites like DHgate? I've never purchased from them so I'm not sure how it works, but some of those dresses are only about $100.

TTD is so unique!  Although new to most and hesitation will follow this is your day and your pictures!!  I am most definitely doing one and I have to admit that I am more excited about these than the actual wedding day photos.  We will be the first to have this done among our family & friends so I am toooooo excited.

Here is my thing, I did by an alternate dress for this.  I could not fathom putting a 4k dress is water.  With that said, to each his/her own but follow your heart always!

My partner & I are definitely doing this!  And it was never a question as to wearing our real wedding dresses.  Not like we are ever going to wear them again!

Aside from being a ton of fun for us, these pictures will provide a lifetime of shock and awe from friends & fam, especially when framed and displayed in our home.

Out off all my wedding pics, everyone thought my TTD pics were the best and most unique and really captured our love.

I would tell anyone to go it, its one of the benefits of doing a DW right??  Why not??

This was my second wedding and my first wedding dress is still under my bed.

On a good note about your dress afterwards, truly its CLEAN, really you wouldnt think so but it was so clean, the ocean and salt do an awesome job of cleaning it, I did not have one stain, and we rolled all over the beach...LOL

I have to say from the moment I started seeing the TTD photos from Del Sol, I knew it was something I had to do! We spent a week at the resort with friends and family and then the following week in St. Lucia, so we told ourselves it would be our 1 year anniversary gift to each other! We've now been married a little over a year and have booked our TTD session! My wedding dress was raw silk and took a beating between our wedding and then dancing the night away, so I'm purchasing another dress. I fell in love with Dahlia MacPhee gowns and ordered one last week! I'm hoping that I love it and will wear this for my TTD. Next stop...designing all of my own {Red-i} By Chelsea jewels for the occasion. So excited!! My vote is 150%...do it! Even if you don't have the ability to do it during your wedding trip, I think it's just as exciting to be carrying another wedding dress through the airport (or having my husband do it I should say :) a year later! Who doesn't love the idea of another wedding-related getaway (and another photo shoot with Del Sol!!

Here's another recent Del Sol TTD session with my barefoot jewels! http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=470

xoxo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
