My OOT Bags so far! *Pics included*

Recommended Posts

I want to start by saying that in following this site and reading alot of other Brides entries have given me so many ideas.. so thank you to everyone for all of their great ideas!

We are getting married in Jamaica, February 23rd, 2012.. so i know this is far in advance, but being from Canada, alot of our things have to be ordered online as i couldn't seem to find alot of things pertaining to destination weddings here. That and knowing that Canada post was going to be going on strike, i wanted to get this stuff before they did so i didn't have to stress about how i would get a lot of this stuff...

These are our Bottle openers, travel sewing kits and chap sticks. We got them from littlethingsfavors.com They are pretty cute. They come blank, with the pre printed labels and then you just have to stick them all on yourself.

OOT bag items

Here is the back of the bottle openers. I chose these ones because they had the two different types of opening the bottle, and they have a little magnet on them so you can put them on the fridge :)

the black and white canvas bag in the back is what we chose for the actual OOT bag. We got those from oriental Trading. and the small box is a silver starfish bookmark.

The clear pouch is what we chose for the waterproof wallets. we ordered the wrist coils from oriental trading, and the lanyards we bought a huge bag of various colors. we decided to include a lanyard and a wrist coil, so they could choose how they would like to keep them :) I will be making little cards to put in the pouches.

We also have beach balls that we got from Oriental trading that we are also putting in the bags that i don't have a picture of just yet. I will be making little welcome booklets to put in the front pocket of the canvas bag but i am not sure what they are going to look like yet..

I am still looking at putting together some survival kits, and first aid kits etc.. based on alot of other ideas from brides on here, but i am still in search of ones that will be affordable. I have 40 OOT bags, as we will have 35-40 guests.. so i am trying to keep it as affordable as possible.

Anyway, thanks for looking..

I got my first aid kits from dollarama, they were 1.25 each... and I got 37 of them (I have 65 guests so I am doing one per couple, and then one for each single)!  They are palm sized and I put a pic up in the canadian OOT bag ideas thread which I believe you are in!!

I love the bottle opener, sewing kit and chapstick, that is awesome!!!!! I have been looking for mini sewing kits that wouldn't cost a fortune and these are so cute!!! Can I ask you what shipping was like from littlethingsfavors?

As for your First Aid kit, like celtic girl said Dollarama has them for $1.25 and we have a Dollar Giant here that has them for $1, definitely worth checking out!!!!

That all looks very nice!  So you are giving 1 bag to each guest?  I was thinking of giving 1 bag per room, most rooms have couples and im sure the women would admire these everything more, but I do have rooms with 2-3 women sharing, do you think I should give them their own individual bags?

Thanks Ladies!! I was actually at our doller store last night checking things out.. and i found a ton of things i can put in the OOT bags and celtic, i saw your pics on the first aid pics, you were the one that gave me the idea to actually go to the doller store to look :) so Thank you!! woot.gif

CGD41812, I was originally going to do one bag per person... but now that we are going to do the survival kits and what not.. just to cut costs a bit, i think i am going to do one bag per couple, and then give the single people.. one bag each. I also have a room with 3 ladies in it, and i am going to give them each thier own bag.. That way they don't have to decide who is taking what home in the end :)

The shipping cost from littlethingsfavors was not the greratest but not horrendous.. considering what i got i guess hahaha.. I ended up getting 48 of each.. the bottle opener, the chap stick, the sewing kits, and the bookmarks.. and my subtotal was 162.57. Shipping was 45.68 and they shipped via UPS.. so it wasn't too bad i didn't think.. to me it was worth it :) oh and then i had to pay 14.00 duty when they delievered it.. but that's just cause it is random and i always get dinged with duty.. they love me ;)

Hope that helps!!

They look awesome! The bags themselves look good too.

For mine, where there's two women bunking in a room they will be getting their own bag.. and I believe the only single guys coming (so far) are my brothers who are also groomsmen so I want to do something special for them anyway, so they'll probably get totally different bags (like a sling style backpack for my younger brother and a messenger bag style laptop bag for my older-younger brother)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
