MAJESTIC ELEGANCE PRICING CONCERNS!!

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married at the Jellyfish for our ceremony & reception.. but we're staying at the Majestic Elegance as well as our guests.  Majestic does more than one wedding a day and between the 2 resorts I can imagine how much they do.  I wouldn't let reviews change your mind though, everyone I've spoken to that have gone to the Majestic have said good things and people have different expectations.  I just looked at my preinvoice for the Jellyfish and I have a 16% tax but it is just for the food and open bar, nothing to do with decorations.

Thank you for your calm and level headedness, I think everything will be fine as I really only heard great things until now.  As far as the tax 26% is standard (I think 16% is tax and 10% is gratuity possibly?!) I am sure it is just a typo!!!

Torilynn- We are already booked and there isn't much we can do about it. Don't panic. Lots of other people loved it. The food situation was bad in January but seems to have improved. Get tons of immodium, for yourself dukoral and maybe Hep A shot. ( i did that just in case). I am a trip advisor junkie. I see you on Face book and reviews are good right?

Girls.. thanks so much for getting back to me and conversing on this post!! I am getting married in less than 19 days and there is no turning back now!!! lol

My sheet did not say "prices are subject to change" -- the new one that she sent me that was 1000+ does though.... BS.

I don't want to go down there and freakin bargain... it's bad enough that I'm blind going into this I feel. My WC was busy with weddings this week so I did not speak to her, but I wrote her a lovely e-mail. I'm just scared.

Also that 46% MUST be a typo.... also does anyone know what is just changed 16%???? I thought that food and beverage were 26% only??

Things like the decoration package is only 16%... also the wedding package for 1250 shouldn't be taxed, correct??

I have spoken with another bride who sent me her invoice and that is NOT taxed-- thngs like flowers were 16%.

If anyone has a "provisional invoice" that they would like to share with me, I'd greatly appreciate it!! I'm just trying to get a better idea of what they are doing to other people because I feel like it's a GAME, like okay, let see if we can get away with this, and that, and this.

I've heard GREAT things about the Majestic so I wasn't worried one bit, but now with pricing I'm feeling like I am going to compromise because I had it in my head that THIS is what I wanted...  I'm starting to order like a million things online because I'm like screw it, I'll bring EVERYTHINGGGGGGGGGG myself!

No, I didn't post an official review, but have commented in quite a bit of detail on my experience in either the Majestic Colonial or Jellyfish thread. I did have a few problems with Jellyfish as well, but maybe I'm just not that lucky. I really hope what happened to me, doesn't happen to you. I hope everything goes smoothly for you! It was a complete nightmare for me..

I am so sad to hear this!  I have my fingers (and toes) crossed in hopes that things have changed and they have improved.  I am so sorry you had such a poor experience but really appreciate your well wishes, I will keep future brides posted when I get back.... ughhh the stress of having a DW isn't much but there is some!!!!!

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP, ANYONE!!!! I know I have posted this a bunch of times, but I am desperate and scared all in the same thought!! I am getting married at the ME in 3 weeks and have MAJOR MAJOR concerns.... My WC quoted me a few months ago at $760 for a package for 40 people and is now telling me that it's $1000 for 40 people and $19 extra per person, so that is $1190 for the same pacakge that she quoted me at $760. The reason I got a quote was to BUDGET for the wedding and now they are telling me it went up $430 in a matter of NO TIME. I want the price honored because THIS is what they sent me!!! It wasn't like I am getting married a year from now, it was 3 months before my date. This is not the only thing too, it's A LOT OF STUFF... plus she gave me a provisional quote and she charged me 46% is taxes... PLEASE HELP.... If anyone is getting married within the next few days, weeks, or over the summer at ME or MC please send me your provisional quote... I am about to lose my mind.... Please e-mail me at nbrittell@Hotmail.com. I'm desperate and am about to have a breakdown--- how do I handle this and has anyone handled this before and gotten the original price you were quoted at--- I HAVE EMAILS (FYI) Thanks for ANYONES HELP!!! • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
