MAJESTIC ELEGANCE PRICING CONCERNS!!

Recommended Posts

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP, ANYONE!!!! I know I have posted this a bunch of times, but I am desperate and scared all in the same thought!!

I am getting married at the ME in 3 weeks and have MAJOR MAJOR concerns.... My WC quoted me a few months ago at $760 for a package for 40 people and is now telling me that it's $1000 for 40 people and $19 extra per person, so that is $1190 for the same pacakge that she quoted me at $760.

The reason I got a quote was to BUDGET for the wedding and now they are telling me it went up $430 in a matter of NO TIME. I want the price honored because THIS is what they sent me!!! It wasn't like I am getting married a year from now, it was 3 months before my date.

This is not the only thing too, it's A LOT OF STUFF... plus she gave me a provisional quote and she charged me 46% is taxes... PLEASE HELP.... If anyone is getting married within the next few days, weeks, or over the summer at ME or MC please send me your provisional quote... I am about to lose my mind.... Please e-mail me at [email protected]. I'm desperate and am about to have a breakdown--- how do I handle this and has anyone handled this before and gotten the original price you were quoted at--- I HAVE EMAILS (FYI)

Thanks for ANYONES HELP!!!

Sorry you are going through this. Unfortunately, I am not getting married there but maybe you can speak to a manager there?  Ask about the quotes & that you can show them the copies of the emails that were quoted to you originally. If they wont budge maybe try to work out a deal if its not the original amount quoted? Have you checked their website to see if any pricing is listed on there?

Sorry, I cant be much help as I am sure you are super stresses about this. Good luck to you.

Ok so I just looked through some of the crap I have saved and I saw a table that said decoration package #3 is 760 bucks.  Then 50 people or more it was an extra 19 bucks/pp.

Nowhere does it give a 46% tax.

That's the package we were going to pick as well for 47 people.

In their package, it does state that prices can change at any time...

I had my wedding at the Majestic Colonial January 2011 and regret picking this resort all together. If I were you, I'd pick another resort. I hated how their prices can change without any warning and it doesn't matter if they did quote you in emails. This was my experience...which is why I chose to have the reception at the Jellyfish Restaurant.

I think the Majestic is a huge rip off and they didn't make my stay special at all. 29 of my guests got sick from the food and a couple were hospitalized for 2 days after the wedding. I could go on and on about all the screw ups at the resort, but I won't.

All I can say is....have the ceremony there if you're already booked and maybe have the reception at Jellyfish? They don't seem to care much about great customer service since it's such a busy resort. Or if you have booked it yet, definitely pick another resort.

Sorry you're so frustrated...I was there too. Hang in there!

This actually makes me want to cry.  We are already booked at the Majestic Colonial because of all the amazing things we have heard about it.  Have you done a review of the resort for the other brides on here?

I am getting married at the Elegance on August 2nd. I have 760 quoted too. It does say prices subject to change on the sheet. But the 46 % tax has to be a mistake. Should be 26% tax. They just can't change the tax.

Torilynn- We are already booked and there isn't much we can do about it. Don't panic. Lots of other people loved it. The food situation was bad in January but seems to have improved. Get tons of immodium, for yourself dukoral and maybe Hep A shot. ( i did that just in case). I am a trip advisor junkie. I see you on Face book and reviews are good right?

Ddid you write back and include your original quote? I did hear if you bring all the emails you can make a deal with them when you get there. Please don't panic. Don't let this ruin your wedding and celebration. Everything is so stressful already and now even more so. Hope everything works out for you. write us when you get back or if your WC writes u.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
