Good idea on the email i was wondering the same....But my problem is i have close friends who i wouldn't bunk w/ certain untrustworthy family members and/or those slightly unbalanced family members if you get what i mean...that would just be a whole other issue!

Maybe you could go in contract with the resort that you are going to reserve this number of rooms but that could go less but not less than n, which is a number that will surely occupy rooms.  Then state an RSVP date for strict compliance so that you could avoid any unwanted incidents that would make it ugly. Been there, done that, it is going to get ugly if not handled properly.  Let your coordinator do it for you, they would be more than willing of course.

The people on our guest list who are likely to come alone are long-time singles and married people whose spouses might not attend, so they're unlikely to be scrambling to find a date and will plan on coming solo from the get-go.  We have a small guest list and feel comfortable suggesting pairings/groups via e-mail, based on similar interests and personalities and/or whether they've met or not.  So far, no one has stumped us with a disagreeable personality.  Most of our friends are used to bunking up with others to save money.

We had this problem too. We are getting married Nov 30! But what we ended up doing was suggesting pairs... but that doesnt always work especially age and gender differences. What we also did was suggest that the singles bring someone else who was not invited to the wedding with the understanding that they would not be included in the wedding events due to extra cost. This actually went over phenomanelly! People are happy to bring someone they would enjoy travelling with but arnt necessarily someone you know. This also gives the single person an opportunity to have a travelling companion for tours and dinner partners. We are pretty relaxed and thought this was a good solution. Also one group rented a junior suite. So one individual is staying in the bed out in the main room and the couple is staring the enclosed bedroom. Saving on money compared to the astronomical price for a single to rent.

Hope this helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
