We are not going to do the garter toss/bouquet as well. I will be wearing one. There's a small amount of singles and considering most of them are going to be my little brother os cousins it may not be appropriate. I know its tradition but it's a dw. Not to mention the last couple of wedding I've been to on NY haven't been doing it anyway.

No bouquet or garter toss...we will only have 1 single guy & 1 single girl and don't really want them to feel uncomfortable...still wearing a garter tho...which can be removed that night AFTER the reception back at the honeymoon suite :)

We've decided to give the bouquet to the longest married couple. We also chose a song to dedicate to them, we thought they could dance to it and then my FI and I could join in about half way. The garter...I'll still wear one (it's my something blue), but not do the whole digging for it at the reception. We have some very conservative people and I don't want to offend. Besides, I don't think my FI would be too comfortable doing it anyway...he gets a bit embarrassed by things like that.

I'll wear a garter, but no garter toss.  It'll really just be for the pictures of me getting ready, and I'm sure it'll show in our TTD photos the next morning.

The bouquet toss, I'm undecided on.  I've caught the bouquet at two weddings, the first of which there were a whopping 3 of us standing there for it (at a 200+ guest wedding!).  I never felt awkward, being singled out b/c we were single, but I could tell the other women standing by me (at both weddings) did.

I love the idea of giving the bouquet to the longest married couple!  It could turn awkward for us, though.  The longest married couple would be my parents, if they come, and I'm not close to them at all, so it would feel weird shining a light on them for any reason.  If they don't come, the longest married couple would be FI's dad & second wife, which could be embarrassing for FI's mother.  Not sure it would work for us, but it's a lovely concept, especially for those who will have grandparents they are close to at the wedding.

I'm not doing the garter toss (FI doesn't know that yet :P ), I'm REALLY not into having him down there in front of anyone. I'm 50/50 on the bouquet toss.... I guess I'll decide once we're there...the bouquet might be too pretty and I might want to keep it

I am not doing a garter/ bouquet toss either as we will only have 1 single male and 1 single female, and I really don't like the idea of my FI going up under my dress in front of my parents/grandparents. I will have a garter--more for a keepsake really. I have never heard of giving the bouquet to the couple that has been together the longest. That is such a great idea. My grandparents will be the couple that has been together the longest and I think they will feel so special if we do that for them! Thanks for the idea!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
