ssapper- love it!!! Tradition and fun were the exact reasons why my FI wanted to keep them in but I thought it would be so silly to have just a few people participating so this is perfect.  And you're right it eliminates a potentially awkward moment.

We have decided not to do either as we only have a few singles and just dont really see the point.  Plus its something we probably wouldn't have done either if we got married here.

Being one of the last single girls in my group, I know how it feels to be one of the only girls left trying to catch the flowers! When there isnt a big group it is just akward and embarrassing. I will def. look at all my RSVPs then decide if we will be doing tosses.

I have not seen a garter toss in the last 5 years. If you want to do it then you should but I don't think its a tradition that must be kept.

I have yet to have the discussion on garter toss and bouquet toss with the FI. I am not too sure if we will be doing that stuff yet...  we only have 3 single people ( all guys) in the group of guests.. so i am not too sure... i like the idea of the oldest wife getting the bouquet.. that is sweet..
