Had a conversation with the lovely FI last night about the garter toss.  I personally DO NOT want to do this, I am really not looking forward to having him under my dress in front of everyone.  Also, because it is a destination wedding  most people are traveling with companions so there will be very few singles so I do not really see the point.

Is anyone else keeping the garter toss and bouquet toss in?

i'm not sure if i'll do either one but...i'll have a garter...mine will likely be a sports themed garter since my fiance is a maniacal Baltimore Ravens fan..i kinda like the idea of giving the bouquet to the 'wife' of the oldest couple in attendance..or maybe a grandmother of the couple, etc...since it is destination..i think 'anything goes'...  cheesy.gif  R~

Were going to do both but rather than inviting just singles well invite everyone to try and catch the bouquet/garter. We've also decided to attach gift cards (maybe to the spa for the girls and a round of golf for the boys) to entice people to try and catch them!! This way we get the traditional and fun moment but its not awkward for guests!

What we did was we sent out RSVP's, and for any of the singles that RSVP'd we kind of grouped together and sent out messages telling them that if they want to save a few bucks (it was 400 less to bunk up with someone) that they could room with someone else, really, how long do you spend in your room when your at your tropical paradise?? Everyone asked to be bunked with someone if there was room, we even had  groups tripple up.  We grouped people with similar interests and went from there, most of ours knew someone in the "singles" pool so that made it easy as well.

I have a few singles who are kind of dragging their feet on booking their rooms because they don't know what to do.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
