hey there, dominique!!!

the bow...its one larger bow in silver and then i cut and tied the purple ribbon to add some contrast for the welcome tag tied on top of the silver ribbon to the front of the pkg...pretty easy and user friendly...  msnwink.gif

about the paper..girls, i get soooooo many inquiries about the paper...i couldn't find the perfect printed paper so i decided..heck, i'll DIY my own paper..so, i found a beautiful paisley print online and thought, i wonder what this would look like if i printed it on my favorite bazille diamond cardstock...so..i did..and voila..i had custom paper!  ladies, there are so many design options out there..google became my best friend when i was in search of a beautiful print...girls, resources are limitless when it comes to design..my motto is..if you can't find it or buy it..DIY it and/or even if you can find it, or buy it...still DIY it!!!!  save that $$$$$ and get your DIY on!!!  it takes ALOT of time..but i'm so happy i did it!

dominique, i buy the bazille diamond cardstock in white at michaels..its also sold online in bulk..and from what i hear..can be bought from michaels in bulk too..its not cheap..so wait for a sale and a coupon to maximize your buying power.  the cardstock is simply beautiful..its textured and has a beautiful shimmer to it.  it also comes in other colors like cream, shades of purple, silver and pink.  i highly recommend it.  by the way, i printed my paisley print on both sides of the paper..i'm just real picky like that..so when folks see the paper..its paisley on both sides.  its so funny how many times, i've seen someone flip the paper over and smile when they see that it's paisley on both sides.  lol!  btw...i picked the paisley print in an effort to bring a bit of masculinity into the stationery suite..an ode to my honey who loves paisley..and purple...a perfect combo!

when you go to michaels..ask a staffer to direct you to the bazille cardstock..its loose sheets of paper...the 8 1/2 x 11 is about .49/sheet and the 12 x 12 is like .59 or .69/sheet.  i primarily used the 8 1/2 x 11 but did buy a few pieces of the 12 x 12 to make my boarding pass sleeves and program covers...i cut those jokers down and voila..they were just perfect!!  i believe the bazille 12 x 12 paper is on sale this week..check it out!

as for the logo...in order to maintain the shape and color of the logo, i converted it into a picture which means i can now drop it into any designed piece i like..its pretty easy to do..i made the logo in powerpoint which is SUPER simple to use for designing logos, etc...heck, i used that program to design everything in my stationery suite including my boarding passes, itinerary at a glance cards, well wish cards and welcome tags, etc.  i just found it easier than other programs..although, technically that's not what its made for...so, don't tell microsoft.  lol!

well, ladies..that's it from here...

until next time, happy planning!!

Ok I'm looking forward to a "how to" on this adorable bow. The smaller piece is tied around the bigger bow?

And is the paisely pattern on your computer and your printing it? I'm trying to figure out how you got a logo with white on it with the pattern subtracted? And then the "i do" on top, I'm guessing you created the {coordinating} paper/patterns and printed them on shimmer cardstock. And how are you buying shimmer cardstock? I don't see white at the craft store, but I see books of 12x12 shimmer cardstock with the colors I want in them. I'm not having success on finding the colors individually :(

Thanks - so excited for you to come home! It's selfis but I hope you started putting your posts together sp I don't have to wait a long time to see them! :)

<3 Dom

And this is Hilarously Adorable!

Wow, can you imagine the smile on my face this morning when I logged in and saw your thread had been updated by you - can you say that we are sooooo obsessed with your wedding.  To know that you took the time out to check in with us ladies makes our love for you & yours thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssssss much grander!!!  I can't believe that BDW has connected ladies of different lifestyles across the road to make a sorority (in a sense) of brides.  I can't thank the creators of this site enough for allowing our inspirations and aspirations to be fully reached through this site.

Happy days....I am so glad that you guys made it safe.  I am so touched that you decided to check in with 'us'.  Like all the other ladies here, we are wishing you happy days and happy times and are waiting for PICTURES!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
