I know what you mean! I couldn't stop looking at all the amazing work! Del Sol is a little pricey, but they DO have a sister company that just opened and has photographers that are also phenomenal! They are called La Luna and are a more affordable option! We decided just to go for it because they are the one thing we will have forever (plus how often do you get the chance to look like a model)!

I was originally not going to do bridesmaids to keep it simple, but my sisters had a FIT, so I ended up just asking my 3 sisters to be my BMs. My FI has 3 brothers, so it kinda worked out perfectly!

Keep looking at pictures, and something will inspire you! That is what this site is GREAT for!

She did our civil wedding photos (a few of which are in my albums). Our budget is pretty limited still, but Del Sol is sooo tempting...amazing work!

Also, I was really thinking I wanted something simple - like, no bridesmaids or anything...but after seeing how gorgeous the bridesmaids looked...ugh...what to do, what to do?!

I think I'm also coming at things from a slightly different perspective, having already been married for a year.

I kind of have a 'don't sweat the small stuff' attitude...but the small stuff is also sometimes the fun stuff. I don't know.

Finally, when we planned our first wedding, we were doing a 1940's vintage theme with a peacock color scheme. Definitely changing the look for our Cancun wedding!! I know we want to keep the teal color in there, but I don't know if I want to go tropical with bright colors or keep it low-key and elegant with white flowers, like callas or whatever....

So much to decide!! =) So glad to be here!!

Wow, that hairpiece is absolutely gorgeous. I'm going to have to talk to the Mr. and see what his vision is of the wedding in Cancun. See...your girls look so amazing...it makes me kind of wish I had bridesmaids but I'm almost sure several won't be able to make it. I love Del Sol's pictures!!! *swoon* You were a beautiful bride, I must say!!!! Love the fuschia, too!

That's so true, KR. I'm going to have to keep looking...my original BM's were going to be my best friend, Sam, who is getting married in July 2012 and financially probably can't swing a DW in Cancun for us (I asked her to be MOH right after we got engaged and she's stuck by me through the two canceled weddings!!), a good friend Izaskun who is from Spain and probably can't make it, two close friends, Marisa and Bern, who, due to finances may not be able to make it, and my sister who has a 7 month old...probably won't be able to make it! I guess we'll see...

Hi viajerajulie!

Thank you so much for the compliment about the "Lakshmi Goddess" hair couture!  Thank you also for the compliments on my girls and being a bride :) I really hope you aren't getting too upset about your girls not being able to all make it and potentially not having bridesmaids. I was in a similar predicament with a lot of friends being out of the country and not being able to make it financially. This was true for both the bridal party as well as wedding guests. I had one of my best friends back out because of financial reasons while we were planning. The most important part is that you'll be there with your love as well as the friends and family who have made it work to be there with you. It's one of the best things about destination weddings...you can make it exactly what you want without having as many of the, "have to's, need to's, etc". You can throw traditional out the window and make the planning about exactly what you want - having a fabulous time with friends and family in a beautiful setting. These memories are ones that are hard to put into words, but I know I could have worried about 90% less and still would have had the time of my life because of the people that made it. Please, I beg of you, focus on yourselves and be confident that no matter what, your day (and trip) will be the most amazing thing you can imagine and you have the ability to make it exactly what you both want. I have had plenty of friends spend huge amounts of money on wedding with hundreds of people (and that is totally fine), but it was our wedding last Summer that was talked about at our friend's weddings because of how unique and special it was. You have the luck to have 2 weddings...it's going to be amazing :)

Please feel free to ask any questions. I'm more than happy to gush about these incredible memories and get excited for the ones you'll have to come!

Best,

Chelsea

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. I got married 6-25-11 at the Marriott Casa Magna and loved it!! It was the perfect resort for us, we had 30 people everyone one from 85 year old grandma to a 6 month old baby and they all loved the resort and everyone was super accommodating to all of our guests. If you have any questions or want pics feel free to PM me. Best of Luck!!!cheesy.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
