I think its to do with our travel agent.  They have until the end of august to get there deposit in and then full payment by Dec.  We are going to Varadero, Cuba.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well this thread is quiet! We have 8 months to go, ladies! What are you all working on now?

I'm focusing on the below:

- going to WW meetings and the gym LOL :o) Down 30lbs so far :o)

- deciding where to buy my dress (Kleinfelds in NYC where I live or a boutique in my hometown)

- flower arrangements based on what flowers are local...I am going with dendrobium orchids

Next I need to figure out invitations!

Its almost to quiet for only 8 months to go!  Time is flying by so quickly I can remember back in January thinking it was going to take forever to be my day!

So far:

I sent out invites

Bought my dress

Choose the bridesmaid dresses (Just have to order them)

Choose the groomsmen Outfits  (Just have to order them as well)

Started on my OOT Bags

Have booked a photographer as long as her husband agrees to come.

Other then that I'm on hold at the moment as our resort has confirmed our date and time but now just waiting on the judge to see if hes available if not symbolic it will be.  But with the Riu they make you deal with the sales people in Mexico until its confirmed and then you can contact your wc in whichever country your getting married in. So once I get the conformation I will have my lists of questions and hopefully be able to sort out a lot more.

Trying to get as much done before september as I start school again and I will be working full time so wedding planning will be on hold a lot after that time.

So far I have:

sent out save the dates

booked a photographer

secured a room/event contract with the resort

picked out a dress (still need to purchase it)

and I have made decisions on my centerpieces, favors, timeline ect. . .

I am in the process of making my invitations right now, and making items for my centerpieces.

I'll be leaving for my wedding in about 7 months! (End of Feb) It's coming up fast!

I'm nervous that I'll have to get it rushed...don't want the extra shipping costs. Has everyone else already ordered theirs?

I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago and already have a ship date of Aug 30 so I should be getting it in the first two weeks of september.  Considering they told me December I'm so impressed by how quick it came.  Oh and i noticed that most dresses were only a 4 month ship time so you should be ok :)

March 28, 2012 Barcelo Maya Palace. I've got the bulk of my stuff done. Sent out STDs at our engagement parry in January. Just sent out passport invites last week. Bought my dress. Bought bridesmaid dresses at H&M Bought grooms suit, groomsmen outfits (Neiman marcus last call and Tommy Bahama outlet) and ALL shoes in Las Vegas for the wedding party including myself. We came back with 3 extra suitcases and almost 20 pairs of shoes (I bought three, and two for each of my girls) Booked photographer, and hair and makeup Ordered real touch flowers for me. Made all boutineers, wrist corsages, flower girl pompadour flower ball and bridesmaid bouquets. Now I'm working on OOT bags, fans, programs, ceremony script and music playlists. Can I also say that I'm a teacher and needed to do most of this in the summertime.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
