Maya Diseno Floral - Great, AFFORDABLE Florist in Playa/Cancun Area

Hi All!

Marvin and I have sent a few emails back and forth.  So far, he has been great- helpful, seems to understand exactly what I want and quick to respond. His prices seem reasonable.

My question to everyone is; did you price out flowers at your own resort before confirming with Marvin or did you just assume Marvins prices would be better and just pay him the deposit?  I have sent several emails to my resort, with no responses back,  so I don't want to harrass them again about flowers...

I want orchids and calla lillies in my bouquet, as well as in  my 3 bms bouquets.  I also want orchid centrepieces...so I know it will be pricey...

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Welcome! I'm pretty sure the majority of resorts have overpriced everything, so I'm sure yours are going to be more expensive than Marvin or any outside vendor!

Thank you for your kind words! I really did love my flowers they turned out great aside from the fact the ribbon on them was supposed to be royal blue- but only I knew that was the case so it was fine! :)

To be quite honest I don't know exactly what time the flowers showed up...I told him to deliver them at 12:30 for our 4pm wedding and they were delivered while we were still in the lobby to check in to our presidential suite- so it couldn't have been any later than 12:45!

I'm using Marvin for my wedding flowers as well (December 2013). He's been very good so far - and I love his work (and this is coming from the daughter of a florist - my mom owned two shops for over 20 years). He prefers payment over paypal or something like that... can't remember..

The bouquets he send me are beautiful. The more expensive bouquets in particular, lol - of course. I'll post pictures of the chosen bouquets soon.

On Marvin's website it says that certain resorts are clients of his company.  The list includes Now Sapphire and Jade, Secrets, and many others.  Does this mean that these resorts use his services exclusively?  I only ask because the brochures that Now Sapphire has sent me don't include what I really want.  But I know that if they use Marvin that I have many (MANY!) other options.

Can anyone fill me in?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
