Dreams Riviera Cancun 2012!

Hey Ladies,

I am getting married at the Dreams Nov.2012. I was wondering if anyone has spoken to them about pricing and if they are willing to negotiate pricing? I will be having about 80 + guests. I just got back from Mexico and was able to check out the resort and it was amazing. When we spoke to the wedding coordinators there they didn't seem to want to really negotiate with pricing in person and said that we should email them with what we want.

I am getting married November 19, 2012! I don't think there is any real room for negotiating wedding prices, not sure about room rates.I am working with a travel agent who is handling all that for me and my guests. We have a "best price guarantee" with Apple Vacations so if the rates get cheaper then we get the lower rate.

What day are you getting married? I have been reading posts on this forum for months now. Finally have a definitive date and plan so figured I would start contributing. I don't know all there is to know but have read through almost all 750 pages of the large Dreams Riviera Cancun forum and the girls who have posted previously have really helped me a lot with the information they have shared.

Happy Planning! 10 months and counting :0)

Hi there, I am also getting married 5/13/12. Are you @ Dreams Riviera? If so, where is your wedding taking place? Lastly, have you had any luck getting in touch with the wedding cordinator? I emailed her 34 days ago and no response. Thanks-Dana

I am working with a travel agent based in Denver so she has been the go between myself and the wedding coordinator. I am not getting married until November so have not been too concerned with details. I am sure as the day draws closer I will want more communication but for now I've been satisfied.

I was told by my TA that if I had questions and wanted a quick response, I could post a question or request to return email on the Dreams Riviera Cancun facebook page and will typically get a very quick response. She said the reason for the quick response as opposed to email is that facebook is seen by the public and they don't want to have negative comments posted so they take care of them very fast. I asked a question last night and had an answer within the hour. I think the facebook page is managed very closely...not exactly sure by who...front desk, management...

Hope this helps!

I am getting married the 19th! Not sure exactly what day we are arriving...most likely arriving the 15th or 16th. I have read on here that it is best to not have a lot of time between arrival day and wedding day and to have more time after the wedding to relax and not be anxious or stressed about wedding details.

Order my STD magnets yesterday from vistaprint. Hope to get those in the mail within the next two weeks and then start looking for invitations.

How are plans coming along for you?

That's crazy! We will probably bump into each other! lol :)

I went to a wedding this past August in Jamaica and it's best to get married asap because it's def. less stressful and that way you can enjoy the rest of the week with everyone.

I just bought my dress three weeks ago, but haven't had much time at the moment to do anything. I am a teacher and it's report card time. As soon as reports are in we will start the negotiations! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
