You should NOT have a reception when you get home!

Recommended Posts

Having a destination wedding is your choice, however, you are aware when making this decision that most people will be unable to attend. Knowing this, you should never expect or accept a gift from anyone.

Having a reception when you get home is just saying, " We really didn't care that you couldn't make it to our wedding, but give us a gift anyway!"

You should have a destination wedding if that is what you want and enjoy every minute of your beautiful day. But do not go asking for gifts, which is what you will be doing by having a reception. That is cheap, rude and selfish.

Wow.  We actually specified no gifts on our AHR invitation and no one is planning on getting us anything - just a get together to celebrate with everyone in my SIL's backyard.  Loving the random rage though....I suggest you direct it to the appropriate person instead of at the thousands of people you do not know on this forum?

K so here is my question if your not into the whole DW thing why are you on this site????!!!!!!! and please keep in mind that all of us brides are on here to get ideas and help from other brides who actually like talking to one another, and no where on here are ppl grabbing for money or gifts.

The whole idea os an AHR is to party it up with fam and friends who cant make it to the actual wedding...and who are you to make any opinions on us or who we are and what we want??!! youve been on here for what 5 posts! SERIOUSLY NEXT TIME TAKE YOUR PILL LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND SAY TO YOUR SELF STOP BEING A B**CH

for all the other future brides out here that i have talked to and have come to count on....pay no attention to those who are ignorant and have no clue

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
