I am planning a wedding at the Westin on Grand Bahama in late May. I'm very interested in any referrals for vendors. I'm heading there for a look-see on Jan 31. Let me know if you'd like me to take some photos while I'm there.

Not anymore ! This was my first DW choice. I even went on a go see and met with the wedding planner and all. But, when we got home, we realized it just wasn't worth the $. It is a BEAUTIFUL location and we had lots of fun, but we decided on DR because we get a lot more for our money. They do have a BEAUTIFUL wedding gazebo. I took pictures, so if you want to see them just PM me. Also, if you do go to visit the location, you MUST go to Rum Runners directly across the street from the resort. They have the BEST drinks and local foods !

We are getting married thereon March 16, 2008.

For our florist we are using Ray Darling. Our wedding coordinator, Santina Cooper, refferred us to another florist but she was too expensive and difficult to deal with. I must worn you though communication is horrible. All of the vendors take forever to respond to a phone call or an email so beware.

You can't count on having any privacy for an outdoor ceremony, but if you're OK with an indoor ceremony, privacy shouldn't be an issue at the Westin Grand Bahama. We had both wedding and reception outdoors, so other guests at the resort were nearby. I was only irritated by the couple who refused to leave the pool area where we had our dinner reception. Otherwise, it's a spacious resort, so while people are around, it's generally not very crowded. There are numerous indoor venues which can be used for the ceremony as well as the reception, such as the Pavilion, ballroom, Manor House conference rooms, and Portobellos.

I love Grand Bahama! For those of you having a DW there you will love it. The Westin is in a great location too. You should definitely head into the square on Friday night for the show they put on. Lots of fun and good bars around.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
