OOT BAGS: Will an Iron on transfer on a canvas tote?

Recommended Posts

So I found some awesome white canvas totes that I would like to use for our OOT Bags and I definitely want to personalize them. However, every iron on paper I see says it would be good to iron onto T-shirts. If it is heavier than a T-shirt to use a heat press! Those things are expensive!!! So I am wondering if anyone has used an iron on transfer on canvas before and how it worked out.

Hmm.  I haven't tried personally, but the canvas fabric isn't going to be smooth, like a tshirt, which is probably why they tell you to use a heat press so that it adheres the right way.  Could you try buying one bag and one transfer and giving it a go?  Good luck!

meeshamillz - I saw iron on transfer paper at Walmart the other day (in Canada but I am sure it is in the same in the states).  They had 3 or 4 different kinds and when I read the back there was one that said transfer onto canvas! I would definitely check it out, it was in the office section right near the cardstock and labels!

Hope this helps and if you go ahead with something let us know!! I will definitely be personalizing too!!!

Oh also, where'd you find your totes?! Post a pic!!!!

I will definitely try it and see what happens and let you know. I found the totes online. Another bride posted this link http://www.cheaptotes.com/ You may have to copy and paste it because the links don't always stick when I post to the forum from my iPhone.

You can definitely use Iron On Transfers on your canvas tote OOT bags. I did this as have many other BDW brides. It takes some practice to get it right & you may mess up a bag or 2, but you will get the hang of it.

If you do a search, you'll find tons of existing threads with Iron on tips & directions, as well as pictures of completed OOT bags.

Here are a few threads that I found. Hope this helps:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
