Which would you choose: Royal Plantation or Half Moon (rose hall) resort?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to iron it out this month:

Royal plantation : smaller but has butler service and access to sandals resort next door (children can also attend wedding if we have any and there are resorts in the area that allow children)/  Half moon: children are allowed tons to do, but have to add on all inclusive

We may or may not have children (depending on if my brother will take my niece and nephews. This is highly unlikely so I don't want to place my whole wedding on the 1 percent likelihood...so I'm judging on other things besides kids.  So I'd love your responses).

Which would you choose?

I gotcha girl :).....

No idea about Royal Plantation but Half Moon? Yes yes and yes. I have stayed there twice - once 10/11 yrs ago and then again with my fiance for New year's just gone. It is intimate and yet has everything you need, it's classy without being pretentious and the staff/customer service is out of this world. Food...don't even go there - I even asked them if they do outside catering but sadly, no.

We would have our wedding there if we could afford it! I did go down the route of getting quotes etc. from them and they are very helpful and accomodating re. budget - we just want to go a little overboard with the extras that's all :)

My mum and dad will be staying there for a couple of weeks (before and after our wedding) so we will def be going back there for a visit.

Hope this helps a little,

CB

Half Moon... why? I just returned from Half moon where I had the mot amazing wedding. Like catererbride says the service food and staff are outstanding. My guests are still raving about my wedding the location etc... i am already working on how i can afford to return for my one year anniversary.

Wedding planner tashane was helpful, always available and very accommodating...if you have the budget then make it Half Moon..

I am still on a high...

Hey Ginger peach...do you have any pics of your wedding? I would love to see. Also how many guests did you have (and which plan did you go with... or even how much did you end up spending approximately.if you don't mind.  Also wondering if you were nickel and dimed. Meaning I was emailed packages and other price points. Are they pretty straight forward or were there surprise costs)

One thing I'm wondering about the staff. From what I hear at royal plantation there are butlers but there are only butlers in the villas at half moon.  What makes the staff at half moon exceptional in your opinion (examples...or just general nice greetings, etc).

Thanks so much for any insight you can provide to help me imagine what my guests and I will experience if we go to half moon.

YAY I'm so glad I found this thread. I've been searching for more info about Half Moon on this site for over a year! I'd love to see your pictures also ginger peach! Hopefully you can do a review or something later on. I have soo many questions. First of all, how many people were in your group? I'd like to invite about 100 people and i wonder if Half Moon is going to be exciting enough for 20-somethings. I know my older family members will love it but I want everyone in my group from the youngest member to the oldest to have fun and feel like there's lots of things to do at the resort. Any insights you can share Ginger Peach would be MORE than appreciated. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
