February 2012 Brides!!!!!!

Aww Thanks Torilynnesmith!!

This weekend i spend what seemed like forever just searching for a good first aid kit label and then changing it to how i liked it..  and because my wedding is more of a starfish theme.. i bought little starfish bookmarks for everyone's OOT and so i made up a little card, that explains the symbolism of the starfish and i am going to attach it to the starfish bookmark box.. just to further clarify as to why we chose that etc...

Also, I spoke with the Calgary Lady that works at Jamaica Tourism, and she is not only sending me travel magazines for my bag for free.. she also sent me 3D glasses and a little 3D video on Jamaica.. for EACH person!!!!!!  she said they will help pump up our guests and get them excited for the tripand she mailed them to me so i should be getting them in the next few days.. i am pretty excited!!!

Krsmith: I am excited to finish the bags, but honestly we do still have lots of time to get them done :)  they are just so fun to work on!!! it is hard not to do it.. i am really enjoying the whole process... My thing is, i havent even started looking for wedding dresses yet. I am doing that this saturday as i suppose i should get my butt in gear! hahah

Anyway, if anyone needs my template for the first aid kit.. ( it is the one with the little stick men on it) lemme know!

Great job! You found a lot of great stuff! I will have to start looking at these places too. I am about 7 months away, and have barely started my OOT bags. I'm dying to get them going, but I am TOTALLY clueless on how many people are coming! So far only our immediate family has booked and said they are coming. Everyone else seems to be taking their sweet time!

Love the starfish thing, we have done a lot of starfish stuff running through our wedding, invites, tags etc. so I am thinking of including the starfish poem as well!!!

I wish I could get something like that for Punta Cana, I have hear a lot of Jamaica brides talking about this and it is so neat!!!

Hey ladies,

I have a question about the key card holders.  How are they used exactly?! Stupid sounding but ...... I know that people put their room key in them and use it to keep their key safe but what is the point.  Do they wear them in the pool/ocean?  Do they wear them around their wrist/neck all the time, to dinner, to shows, to the bar?! I have purchased ID holders that are zipper pouches with a key card (id) slot but I just want to better understand if people actually use them..... I am starting to think it may be a wasted spend......

Tori,

I got mine so that when people are at the resort and going to the beach or pool etc.. all they need to do is carry their waterproof wallet... with their room key, tip money and maybe a credit card or what not... and then they don't have to worry about keeping it on the beach unattended when they go swimming etc..

With mine, i am providing lanyards and wrist coil straps, so they can choose how they want to wear it.. I don't know that everyone will wear them, but i know quite a few people will as it is handy, and allows people to keep their wallets and such in the room safe and just carry what they need.. and again, not have to worry about leaving anything unattended etc..

Thanks luvmoo.... I just don't see some of our groups wearing something like that on their wrist or around their neck.  Either way I have bought them so we will include them, I am just afraid our guests might be confused almost lol!

I have heard so many brides say what a "hit" they were in their OOT bags so I was all about them... now I am not so sure!!!

Wow, you both have a lot of people confirmed already! I think we are at 14.....geesh! LOL!

I have no clue about Key card holders, I dont remember needing one when while we were on vacation or at a resort...but then again we had actual keys for our rooms....wondering if I should at them to our OOT bags...

Oh and I have officially completed the look and layout for our invitations....it took sooooo long and more energy than I realized it would.  I am trying to finish at least 10 a day, with cutting, pasting, tying and what not.  I will be so glad when this part is officially complete and in the mail!

It is all personal preference.. if you don't think that they are needed or you are worried that people won't use them,  then don't spend the money on them :)  I personally will use mine and i think they will be a big hit with my guests, but i could totally see how some people may not think they are useful... I remember going on vacations and trying to figure out where i was going to hold my tip money and such as i didn't want to take a lot down to the beach to leave unattended.. or have to run back to the room every hour to run and get tip money or what not... It is something to think through though, as they can be pretty expensive if you have a lot of guests, so you want to make sure it is something worth while for you and your party for sure! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
