Getting stuff through customs...

I'm glad we decided to fly first class... I think the 70lb weight limit will definitely help. I can't wait to hear your experiences Mo... I think you're the next Jamaica bride!

Just wanted to bump this up and let all the Jamaican brides know that you can breathe a little easier about customs. We had no problems whatsoever. We flew in with another couple, and between us had 11 bags, yes... 11 when we hit customs. We didn't declare anything. When you get to customs, there are 2 lines... declare and nothing to declare. If you say you are declaring, you go to a line where they look through your bags. If you declare nothing, you breeze right through without a single question!

I know this was something I stressed about, so hopefully you guys can now relax!

11 bags? WOW! I know we won't have that many but I was still worried. That is sooo good to know that you didn't have any problems. Thanks for the reassurance!

Okay... 11 includes our garment bags... Our friends had 3 big bags for themselves, we had 3 large suitcases, 2 real garment bags filled to the brim with our towels for the OOT bags and clothes, my dress, his tux, and a carryon. It was crazy, but we made it through no problems. My stress levels the day we flew were crazy - I didn't sleep well, and getting on the plane with everything was the first hurdle, customs was the second. Once we were past customs, I was totally relaxed and ready for a Red Stripe!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
