Cocktail hour

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere yet, sorry if its a duplicate, I emailed Chandlyn to see if I could have a cocktail hour after the wedding pictures and all are finished. This was her reply and the menu she sent me. I was thinking since my wedding is from 2pm-3pm I would have this from 3-4 and then we could go back to the room to freshen up and have some alone time. This is what she said.

Arrangements can made for the cocktail hour at the beach bar(semi-private) with horsdouvres at the additional cost. Kindly see attached

I am having my cocktail hour after the ceremony at the ceremonly location. My wedding is from 4-5. My cocktail hour will begin at 5pm and I will be having the steel drum band playing during this time. Right after we will head to the plantation from 6:30 to 10:30. I am going to have the DJ at the reception for 4 hrs playing so that we don't have to change locations for a third time by going to the disco.

You can have a semi-private or private dinner at either Mammee Bay or Plantation Restaurant, depending on the size of your party. There is no cost for the semi-private dinner at Mammee Bay (if you're group is less than 50 I believe). The cost of the private dinner at the Plantation is $500 for 2 hours or $1000 for 4 hours. Open bar is $10 per person. DJ for the restaurants is $150 per hour. You can also rent out the Pascha Disco for 2 hours for $250, which includes dj and open bar. If you read through other posts in the Jamaica section of the forum, I'm pretty sure that there are explanations of the menus and costs and whatnot. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, I am having my reception at the mammee bay steak house. We are having a smaller group so the steakhouse is fine for us. I canceled the disco, decided with my small group there is really no need. We really want to go to the beach party anyway. So thats where our dancing will be. I will have our wedding dance on the beach when the steel drums are playing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
