Canadian Brides-Flying out of Buffalo?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

So our travel agent came back with our quotes for our wedding in April 2012. We were shocked! Prices were really high for next year. We could save some money by doing an early booking bonus but that will mean everyone paying the full amount by this August 2011. Everyone agreed but it is a lot of money to come up with for some people in only a few short months. We are flying out of the Toronto airport and someone suggested we have our travel agent check prices for the Buffalo airport (which is just about an hour and a half away). We are only have a small wedding mostly with immediate family so travelling there would not be a problem for everyone and I know the Buffalo airport is a nice airport. Since we are looking to save money it got me thinking! My Dad has flown out of buffalo for just a flight but now sure how a vacation package would work? Especially with a wedding package that is for a group. So I thought I would ask on here! Has any Canadian bride ever flown out of the US for their wedding to save money?

Thanks!

We booked our resort and flight separately, so I checked flights from Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo. They were all really close. Even though the taxes are a lot lower flying from Buffalo, there is few direct flights to Cancun. For us, it wasn't worth the minimal price difference to spend more time traveling.

What resorts are you considering?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
