Yes, Dreams referred me to Florenta Flowers. I've read a lot of good reviews on this site about them, but my personal experience was that they were not super helpful or willing to negotiate. That was a huge turn off for me. I decided to use Los Cabos Flowers instead because Francine, one of the florists, was suuuper nice and helpful and willing to work with my budget as much as she could. Here is the link to their site in case you'd like to check it out.

Yes I was able to use a different vendor. But I started my planning with Mariana who left in March. Magda took her place and has been fine with me thus far. I know some things did change with their wedding packages in 2011, so I'm not sure if they now don't allow outside vendors??? I would ask if you would be charged a fee for an outside vendor. Many venues do that. I signed my contract with Dreams last year, and at the time they really pushed their "preferred vendors" but said if I decided to use someone else, I needed to get an ok from the resort first.

Hi everyone.  I'm getting married at Dreams Cabo in May 2012.  I was wondering if anyone had comments on getting hair/makeup done at the salon at Dreams?  I'm also looking into outside vendors but they are so much more expensive so I'm trying to figure out the best option.

Also, when did everyone pick things like flowers, decorations (chair bows, linens, etc) and things like that?  I've asked my wedding coordinator and can't get a straigt answer.  He isn't sending me enough information to make selections yet he hasn't told me that I should just wait.  If I should just wait and make the selections when I'm down there a few days before the wedding that is fine but he hasn't told me if that is what I should do.

Thanks for your help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
