So glad to see that everything went so well! Looked really beautiful :)

I was wondering how people pay for the wedding. I would normally want to pay with credit card, but have heard that there are extra fees when charging things internationally, so I'm looking for a way to get around this. I was thinking travellers checks maybe? What did you all do?

Not 100% sure on this, but I think Capital One cards don't charge you a conversion fee, in which case maybe you can just charge everything to the Capital One card?

Your pictures were great! You looked beautiful! I have a few questions for you:

1. Where did you get your centerpieces? I really like them.

2. It looks like your reception was at oceana, is that right?

3. Did you bring the hanging string lanterns or did Dreams provide those?

4. Did you use an outside vendor for your cake or did you use Dreams?

5. Did you hire a DJ in Cabo? If so, who did you use?

Thank you so much in advance!

Hi again! Here are some answers:

1. Where did you get your centerpieces? I really like them.

Colin and I designed the centerpieces ourselves at home, took a picture, and Yesica recreated them for the wedding. They were only $25 each.

2. It looks like your reception was at oceana, is that right?

The reception was behind the oceana restaurant on the pool terrace. Very cool location b/c it is one of the more private ones a the resort.

3. Did you bring the hanging string lanterns or did Dreams provide

those?

Dreams provided and setup the lanterns for $180 USD

4. Did you use an outside vendor for your cake or did you use Dreams?

No one touched the cake except when Colin and I smashed it in each other's faces. We used the Dreams cake included in the Dreams of love package.

5. Did you hire a DJ in Cabo? If so, who did you use?

DJ Ricardo- the best!!!

Hope this helps.

Oh yes and regarding payment, using cash or AMEX traveler's checks you will not be charged any sort of fee. Our guests used credit cards but we paid the master account with Traveler's checks and cash.

Caraleelee, thank you so much for posting your pics and answering those questions. Your pics are so great & it looks like you had a ton of fun!

One question for you... did you have Dreams do your flowers or did you go through an outside vendor? Any one else have any thoughts on flowers, either Dreams flowers or through an outside vendor?

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
    • So we are currently looking for an all inclusive resort for the wedding. We have 60 guests and found all the Dreams resorts as options and all of them gave us a quote and discounted price since it’s off season etc. Resorts in Punta Canta gave us a reasonable price, Dominicus gave us a really good deal then La Romana Resort and Spa gave us their regular price and so hard to negotiate. Will someone tell us how special is this resort that they won’t give us a good discount when all my guests are staying in their resort for 5-8 days. We are bringing $$$ in their resort and not give us a discount?  What is so special with this resort?  Can somebody recommend a beautiful resort?
