Hey Erika, that's so exciting that you leave in just a couple days! Can't wait to get your impressions when you get back. I think you know all of my questions. wink.gif I would love to get a general sense of age range, and how loud (or quiet) things tend to get around the resort in both daytime and nighttime hours. Most of our groups will be in their early 30s, quite a few with kids, so we just want to be sure the environment is right, too.

Anyway, enjoy yourself, and I'm looking forward to hearing your full report!

Bon voyage!

Hi all;

I wanted some help on legal dates vs. "Cabo" wedding dates. I've seen a few avatars that list legal dates (of weddings) and Cabo dates. If you are marrying in your home country/town , how are you still permitted to be married again?! Are you renewing vows??

Thks.

We did our legal day at home in Toronto, and then had a symbolic wedding in Cabo. We are using our Cabo date as our anniversary date. But officially the day we were legally married is our legal Toronto day. You are "permitted" to be married again because the second wedding is only symbolic and there is no paperwork signed or anything then. It's just a ceremony.

I didn't know about the vendor meal amount! Dammit. I paid the full $29 for mine. Ah well.

J I will try to answer this for you...Erika can add when she gets back also.

The age range at Dreams was mostly people around our age I'd say (30's). I did see children there, and there are 2 pools - one is louder, and one is more quiet. There is also an Explorer's Club for kids with activities all day long. The nighttime hours aren't too noisy usually - everything has to be shut off outdoors by 10:30 so after that the resort is really quiet. The daytime is medium noise level I would say, unless you are at the quiet pool. It's much quieter than it was at the Riu Palace in my opinion.

Hope that helps!

Thks. for your reply Heather :)

When in Cabo, did you exchange vows, rings etc.? Did your guests know that they were witnessing a symbolic wedding?

We did everything you would do in a normal wedding ceremony, except we did not sign any legal documents. So we said vows, we exchanged rings, we kissed at the end, etc. My brother performed the ceremony for us and he told everyone he was ordained on the internet. Some of our guests, and our family, knew that we were legally married before hand, but it didn't bother anyone. The symbolic ceremony is the real wedding in our eyes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
