Dreams Cabo Brides

So I am trying to plan a last minute wedding at dreams and need some feedback, fast! I am trying to read through all these great posts and cut and paste info which has been helpful so far.

I am looking at having my wedding at dreams on 26 July. Ceremony/Cocktails on the beach, and am told they only have the beach available for the reception. Has anyone done this before? If so, what is your feedback? Is music permitted out there? What about if it rains? Knowing my luck...this will happen. I am following up with Yessica but wanted to be sure.

Also--cost wise, I understand that ceremony/cocktail is $25pp, and reception is also $25pp. Are linens included? She sent me photos and the chairs had nice coverings with ribbon tied in the back? Is this an additional fee?

-Did your guests stay at other hotels? If so, did they just have to pay the daily entrance fee?

Would anyone mind sharing with me a breakdown of what their Dreams wedding actually cost? I understand that this may be sensitive...please email me at [email protected]

Thank you so much in advance.

I Have not heard of anyone having their reception on the beach...at least from what I can remember. I do remember seeing photos of a wedding where they had tables on the beach and it looked really nice. They had some type of light underneath them so it looked lit up, really cool! If so, what is your feedback? Is music permitted out there? What about if it rains? I would ask Yesica if there is a backup plan if it were to rain....maybe they can have an option for you. Knowing my luck...this will happen. I am following up with Yessica but wanted to be sure.

Also--cost wise, I understand that ceremony/cocktail is $25pp, and reception is also $25pp. Are linens included? The while chair covers & white table clothes & napkins are included. If you want the chair ties, Yesica quoted me $1 each for those. I believe the tablecloths if you want another on top of the white it is $10 each. Might want to double check that number though. She sent me photos and the chairs had nice coverings with ribbon tied in the back? Is this an additional fee?

-Did your guests stay at other hotels? If so, did they just have to pay the daily entrance fee? If you guests aren't staying at the hotel you have to pay a day pass which I think is now $89 if I remember correctly.

Would anyone mind sharing with me a breakdown of what their Dreams wedding actually cost? I understand that this may be sensitive...please email me at [email protected] There are options for having hurricanes on the tables, tiki torches, lighting, entertainment, flowers....what were you looking for in particular?

Thank you so much in advance.

I'm having difficulty understanding Yesica's price quote due to the language barrier with syntax and want to make sure I have it straight- did any of you choose the ultimate or dreams of love wedding package and are paying for your people above the 20 included in that package? Is the $1960 package price inclusive of setup for ceremony & reception?

Thank you!
I will add you to the list

Hi Ladies,

I was wondering if any of you have used oriental lanterns to decorate the Oceana Terrace at Dreams. Also, has anyone used the paper sandbags with candles lit inside? If so, can you share where you bought them and their cost? For the lantern, did you buy the light bulb that goes inside, too? Do their outlets work with american power outlets?

Thank you!

Cara

yes a few girls on here have used the lanterns and I will be too. I got mine from orientaltradingpost.com or asianideas.com I cant remember. Dreams supplies the lighting you just bring the lanterns. we are also doing the paper bags with the tea lights in them Dreams will supply those for you also for $1.00 each I think, or you can bring your own.

When I asked Marina about the lanterns, I believe she said they could supply them - the price was $180 for the setup incl 24 lanterns. She just quoted this to me last week.

And yes, she also quoted $1 per luminaria

Wow- if she supplies 24 lanterns for $180 that's an awesome deal! I brought my own 24 lanterns (purchased at asianideas.com) and was charged $180. Make sure you double-check on that, or bring your emails. She will honor them.

I brought luminaria bags. I used a decorative punch for the top. I had 100 of them for the Oceana Terrace.

Hi my name is Jennifer and me and my fiancé Matt are getting married at the Dreams Los Cabos resort on November 15, 2008.

After seeing all the stress and planning my sister (aka Bridezilla) went through with her wedding, I was determined to have a DW and was so excited when I booked Dreams.

Now I'm confused and am hoping that you fellow Dream brides can help... call me naive but I thought going into it with the Ultimate Wedding Package I would basically have everything taken care of. Now Yesica (who seems really sweet) is asking me what I'm be doing for a photographer, florist, decorations, cake, music ect. Isn't that included What is and what do I need to book myself?? I feel alittle out of mt league!

Please help... I'm from Canada and it is not likely that I will get a chance to do a site vist and get all this figured our in person.

Thank you!!!

Hi Jennifer!

Oh, Amber's wedding was beautiful - I can understand why you'd want a DW after seeing that! Are you using Maye as well?

To be honest, I didn't go the package route, so I'm not 100% on the details. I'm pretty sure the cake is included, but it might be made to serve a certain amount of people (like 10 or so). I think you can hire a lot of vendors through Dreams, but it can be expensive and you might not get what you want.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
