Some more updates, I met with all my vendors today (except for the photographer that I meet tomorrow) and feel really good about everything:

- Magda: She answered all my questions very patiently. She is very busy, but seems on top of things. There is a little mix up with the location of our ballroom (to party past 10:30 PM) and she is figuring it out. She is very very nice. I complained that there is not any conditioner in he room and she offered to go to town and buy me some!!!! Of course I didn't accept, but was touched. I know that we were all sad when Mariana left, but Magda is great too!

- DJ Ricardo: Super cool guy with a lot of experience. I had sent him all our songs and he had everything organized. I feel really good about him :)

- Lola (Florist): She is really nice and patient. She is the least organized of all the vendors in my opinion, but still seems like she has everything under control.

- Mario (Cigar Roller): We asked for this service because my FI saw it in one of the "Platinum Weddings" that he was forced to watch and thought it would be a cool idea to have a guy hand roll cigars at the reception. He was great too. The price of his cigars were reasonable as well. I am super excited about this!

As for the resort, we love it so far. Food is good, drinks are OK and people are awesome. You can't beat the weather and the scenery.

Cheers,

Azadeh

I am currently trying to plan my wedding at Dreams Los Cabos resort, and I have read on here that it may take "a few days" to hear back from the wedding coordinator, but it's been almost TWO weeks, and I have heard nothing.  My fiance and I are trying to plan for a January 2012 wedding, which is not that far away, so this waiting around is really stressing me out.  Does anyone have any tips on getting ahold of a coordinator there? My family and I are pretty much in agreement with the resort, but we can't even get ahold of them to put a deposit in.  Any advice would be helpful! Thanks! :)

Congrats on your upcoming Dreams wedding Shawnarochelle!!  Try not to stress too much...they are super busy right now with a ton of weddings going on.  I know it's hard to move forward without knowing if your date is secured but They work as fast as they can.!!  My wedding is next month, June 11th and it is still at times taking my WC almost a week to reply.    If you do not hear back in a few days, you may also try senidng a PM to Tammy (host) as she has a very good relationship with Dreams and maybe she can help secure your date.  I'm sure you will hear something back from them soon.  Good luck with your planning :)

Thanks knbell22 ! I actually FINALLY heard back today, and I understand they are busy and they explained the servers were down.  Either way, I simply just wanted to know if the dates were available so i could either move on or book it. So far I feel like picking the date is the most stressful part! :) Good luck with your wedding, I hope the last month goes smoothly... I am excited and I still have 7 months!

Cherazi, thanks so much for posting updates!!! I would love to get the info for your cigar roller guy when you get back. I'm not sure if we want to get an actual cigar roller, or just cigars, but this is a good place to start!

Also congrats ShawnaRochelle! Great news, and great choice on resort!

I would also love to hear about the cigar roller.. We are debating hiring one vs getting just cigars as well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
