Best time to get married in November @ Iberostar Rose Hall Beach?

Does anyone know what time of day would be the best time for us to get married?

Originally I just wanted to be married at sunset but I love looking at everyone's daylight wedding photos. So I am looking for a time where we can get married with plenty of sunlight. Have an hour long cocktail hour (for Champagne only) and start the reception at sunset.

What time of day (in November) would be the best time to start our wedding for this affect?

First off congrats and welcome to the forum.

Well generally the best time of day for photographs is at sunset which is why it is called the "golden hour". We like to shoot the newlywed photos during that time (arguably the most important), so to have the ceremony already done is preferable. Normally having the wedding earlier and that leaves time for the couple and the photographers to go and shoot during this time. Often we have seen the cocktail hour happen while we are out with the bride and groom. Then we finish with the photos and return for the reception.

During November here in Playa the sunset will be between 5:50 and 6:10. So as a rough plan you could have the ceremony at 3:30 and then from 4:00 till 6:00 have photos (this would also include time for family photos directly after the ceremony).

If you would rather be having your reception during sunset you would have to adjust accordingly.

Hope this helps a little.

We are getting married in January and chose to have our ceremony at 3pm.  The sun sets in January around 530pm.  By having our ceremony at 3pm it allows us some extra room incase our ceremony starts late ect.

Thanks for the info that helps a lot! So I think we will try to do our wedding about 4 for good daylight pics as well as sunset pics. Then it should not be nice and dark for the bonfire!

Here is a good site for sunset times. Looks like November is closer to 5 or just after.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
