Be honest with me...

Recommended Posts

I am happy to see this thread, and to know that someone else feels the way that I do.  I'm not 40, but this is going to be my second wedding, but fiance's first.  I was feeling akward about everything at first, but then you know what... I do want a wonderful wedding.  (and not to mention that I didn't plan even one detail for my first wedding... didn't even get to pick the dress)

Bottom line is, don't feel akward or too old or anything else.  You deserve to have a wedding day that you can smile back on.  If you would rather wear jeans, do it, or if you dream of Cinderella's ball gown, wear that!

It's all about you and the love you will share with your spouse that day.

Wear whatever will make you feel CONFIDENT and HAPPY!!!  Thats all that matters.  If you feel silly with a train and veil, it will show.  If having a train and veil is important to you and will make you feel like the bride you want to be, it will show.  You just have to love every piece of what you've chosen to wear.  And LOTS of brides are choosing not to wear veils, they are really not a mandatory object like they once were ....GOOD LUCK!

I agree with all the other ladies Sascolo! You celebrate the way you want to. Age does not matter.

As for the veil, I didn't think I wanted to wear one because I thought it looked silly but when I put the right one on (as a joke) I actually fell in love with it. Sometimes planning these things leads you down a different unexpected path. As long as you feel beautiful walking down that aisle to join with your future hubby, that is what is important.

Go for it!!!

I was watching one of the many bridal shows that I am addicted to and on one of them there was an 80 year old lady that was renewing her vows after 50 plus years of being married.  She looked fantastic for her age and they looked so in love.  She went and tried on dresses complete with trains and veils and though you would think it would seem odd seeing a lady at that age dressed to the nines in wedding apparel, it was actually the opposite.  She looked so happy and radiant that it brought tears to my eyes.  I guess what I am trying to get at is it doesn't matter how old you are, 20, 40 or 80, as long as you are happy and you are excited to see your mans face when he sees you for the first time walking down the aisle.  Best of luck with everything!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
