Need help deciding on a WC...

Ok girls, I recently received a projected budget from Fiestas Los Cabos and they assigned Amy as my coordinator. I have not hired them yet.

Does anyone have any feedback on her specifically? I've read reviews and posts about Tara and some of the others but not her.

Yes, FLC is pricey but it just seems like they will understand what I visualize and will be able to pull it off (i'm kinda anal).

However, since they are so popular and busy I get this feeling that they are strictly business in a 'let's get this wedding done and over and book the next one' kind of way. Am I totally off here?

Tara has been nice but right down to business even said to me "oh sorry who are you again, I'm working on 9 leads right now..."

Needless to say, that didn't make me feel all that important. worried2.gif

Hello,

I`m deejay, and I work with most of the WC at Los Cabos, FLC is one of the companies I work for, I know very well Amy and Tara and in my opinion they are very profesionals and take as personal each wedding they attend, you can be sure that they will cover all your expectations... so many others WC at Los Cabos as well.

I'm using FLC as a supplement to my evnet planner I have in Texas. I have only dealt with Tara directly, so I'm not much help with the Amy concern?

But I can tell you Tara is very business-like and can be short, but I think she's just trying to cover all details. I know I email her probably on average 3-4 time a day, even when she was on vacation, and hear from her almost immediately. She has been out for a month, so the "9 leads" is probably just her way of trying to play catch up now that she's back.

I would not hestiate, personally, to hire FLC, but I'm super picky, I want to know that who I'm using can create exactly what's in my head, that they have access to the types of vendors and design elements that I want, and I obviously want to make sure it all runs smoothly. Part of that stems from the fact that we'll probably have 150 people at our wedding, which can get crazy.

But I also know so many brides have used Maye and had a great response from her. I contacted Maye and she was super helpful and very nice, so I don't think you can go wrong either way.

If you want to discuss FLC directly with me, feel free to PM your questions/concerns.

I used Maye so I don't have any words of wisdom. But I don't remember reading any horrible reviews about FLC so I'm sure they are fine. However I think it is safe to say that all the successful WC in Cabo have access to high end vendors and elements.

The only company I would warn people from using is WIP...

It sounds like you and I have the same thing in mind. I want to use them for the same exact reasons and we'll probably have up to that many guests as well. I probably will be pm-ing you to compare and contrast. Yay!

Can't you use both Maye and the WC from the resort? A lot of Dreams brides did that. This way they could both coordinate your vision and you wouldn't have to worry that one of them was slacking. In other words, the WC from the resort could help you with your vision and the excellent taste that you like from them and Maye can give you the special attention that you need. See best of both worlds!

You mean use Amy from Fiesta Los Cabos and the WC from the resort? Yeah I think that's what I'll end up doing or just using them for some aspects like the decor, flowers, etc.
Good thinkin'.

I'm sorry I completely misunderstood. You were talking about a WC company and I thought you were saying you wanted to have your wedding at Fiesta Americana and use that WC and Maye. LOl. I apologize, I misread. I thought the person you were asking about was someone from the resort. I guess if you really like the work they do then you should go ahead and hire them and hopefully the resort's WC will give you the special attention you deserve.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
