Dukan Brides!!!

Recommended Posts

Lookin to see if any other brides have started or are thinking of starting the new Dukan Diet
I started just over a week ago and lost 9.4lbs during the Attack Phase - now a few days into the cruise phase!
Can't believe how much I missed my veggies!

Anyway - if anyone out there wants to throw input on their Dukan experience - would love to hear from you!

ohhh! yay! FINALLY! Someone else is doing this!
Congrats on your success! I unfortunately can't report the same :(
I did SO good when I started...I'm down about 13lbs...but have been stagnant for over a month now because I keep cheating! Ugh!
Everytime I turn around there's an event or dinner..or camping trip thats getting in my way! i know I need to just discipline myself better - but clearly thats my issue - or I wouldnt be on this diet to begin with! ha ha

The ONLY good thing - is that i haven't gained any of it back. Just up and down 1-2 lbs. So frustrating..but ya - I gotta get back on track.
Im thinking i'll just start over with the Attack Phase again - do a good solid week of pure protein and kick this weighloss back into full swing!

I've been on the diet for 6 weeks and lost 14 pounds (1 pound shy of my half way mark!)

I'm amazed at how much I don't miss carbs, ok I miss chocolate but not bread or pasta kind of carbs.

I would have to agree that I've been amazed at how much I don't miss carbs, except chocolate.  My only fix has been fat free/sugar free jello pudding.  It's been easy to incorporate and my FI is making comments on my weight loss.  I've been trying very hard and because I have seen success I keep going at it.  I'm trying to stay on track for our engagement photos this early October.

I hope your re-start goes well.  Remember carbs are BAD! thatswck.gif

hah a- yes- Carbs are the definite enemy!

Ya- Jello pudding is fantastic!
the comments definitely keep the motivation up! I even got some this weekend when we were camping..so thats good..but than I almost feel guilty getting them

because i know i should be down another 10lbs by now!
Engagement session is a BIG motivator. We had one back in April and it turned out crappy so we actually get a 2nd chance with our new photographer that we hired

for the wedding. We'll probably do it this fall too.
Not only that..I need to start trying on dresses! Thats the whole reason i went on this diet - was the fast weight loss! And here I am sabatoging myself!
Ugh - well - as long as I pull up my socks soon...theres no excuse now that its summer and i can get outside and walk!

I hear you staying motivated is hard. I'm heading to gym shortly. In addition to the dukan diet I'm Adding strengthening exercises to help speed up the weight loss. I've done really well and I'm terrified what will happen in August when I head home for a week. It's hard to say NO to fried chicken and biscuits (I'm from down south). It's hard not to find anything fried! Good luck with re-starting the program. Keep the dress in mind as motivation. Mine is trying to look like Kate Middleton on her wedding day. I'm worried about her now she is now too skinny (still beautiful)! I know they must have her all over the news this week that she and prince William are in Canada!

Thats a great idea - you'll have to let me know if it does speed things up.

Ya- I hate to say thats what knocked me off the horse the first time...but instead of home it was Vegas..lol
Kinda hard to be so strict when you're on holidays and trying to have a good time also.
The one good piece of advice my girlfriend told me is that if you have to cheat..so be it..but try to counteract it with some protein and exercise and water..and you should be fine.
Maybe use me as an example - I've cheated but I haven't gained. So if you're ok with not losing anything that week - then dont' worry too much about cheating. As long as you dont go hog wild you should be fine. When you get back home - just do a few days of solid protein to get back on track and just pick up where you left off.

Ya..gotta get 'the dress' in my mind..the more i think about it and how crappy i'll look if i stay the way i am  - the more motivated I get.
They are in Canada this week! And they'll be in my city on Thursday apparently ! Very cool

Breaking the diet for Vegas was a good excuse. I'm super impressed that you didn't gain any weight! I'm hoping to only have a little fried food, it will be interesting to see if my body will tolerate grease the way it once did. I've always been a believer (and the research shows) that strengthening added to any "diet" will help speed up the weight loss process. Don't go crazy with it! I do a lot of core strengthening (planks) and as much as I hate them my waist line is where I've seen the results. My other motivation is fitting back into my clothes! I remember thinking that if I added a belt and a loose long shirt no one would notice. It's so nice to wear pants and they close without having to "suck it all in"! Will you be able to see the newlyweds?

Ha ha- I think it was all the walking of the strip that kept it off - cuz I cheated in everyway possible! Even had one of those ginormous slushie drinks!

Be prepared for your body to get a lil angry. Especially if its grease. I didn't notice any reprocussions from chocolate or bread..but grease - oh ya..mega bloating..gas..etc etc...lol
Everyones different of course- but I know my body tells me 'oh no you di-int!' and makes me pay for it! lol

Ya- Im not too big of a weights girl - but i dont mind doing situps..so i'll see if I throw some of that in- as soon as I get my walking down - i looooooove walking

ha ha- i hear you on the clothes! I'm only 5'1 - so 13lbs is hugely noticeable with my clothes. My belt is 3 holes smaller! yay! And ya - i have half a closet full of size 6's and 8's...that are just glaring at me - saying get rid of those size 10's and 12's!

I think we have an opportunity on Friday during our Stampede Parade - which kicks off the Calgary Stampede - 'Greatest outdoor show on earth' - not sure if you've heard of it..but its a big deal here. People come from all over the world for these 10days. But ya- I'm not going to bother going to see them - it's going to be insane with the amount of people. I'm not a crowd person..ha ha - probably just watch it on TV

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
