I was married at the GPLH on Saturday June 25th, 2011.  The wedding ceremony was absolutely beautiful.  The problem I had was trying to get in contact with the resort wedding coordinator and the photographer who has a location on the premises inside the gift shop.  It wrecked my nerves that neither had reached out to me to confirm anything and I had to hunt for them.  I was disappointed that my ride to the ceremony location never came and I ended up walking with my mother and uncle (my escorts) but I did not let that ruin my mood.

Hi Canadiangirl,

My date is set for 06/09/2012.  I have been in contact with Simone at the hotel and she has been awesome...  I had a million questions and she answered them all -- most times within 24 hours.  We went there on vacation last year, and the resort is beautiful.  We are planning to have a private reception at Blue Lagoon... I'm still waiting on the menu.  She said it was being revised.  We are a bit far out for menu, but I'm curious to know our options. Happy planning:-)

congrats on the wedding day!!!! we too are doing the private reception at the blue lagoon, i think its the only way to go...this way i can get all my personal touches in on the decorations and what not. As far as the menu goes, i know I was told November they would be out....however, i do have the buffet menus if you want to look at them.

In your other post you mentioned a credit for the florist????!!!!!!!!!!!! What credit is this? ive never heard anything about a credit.....TELL ME MORE!!!!!!! lol thank you

Canadiangirl,

FYI -- I have been in contact with Sandy at Tai Flora. She sent me me several brochures... They give you credit for the items included in your package.  For example my package (dendrobium - renewal package)  includeds the bride's bouquet and groom's boutonniere, a centerpiece and 2 tropical arrangements.  I also need about 8 reception centerpieces, 3 BM bouq, 2 corsages, and 4 additional bouts.  I will get "credit" for what's included in my package.   They send you a brochure with the available choices -- you get credit for what's included and anything else is extra.  They have 164 bouquets to choose from and there is also a plethora of choice for recpetion decor, etc.  I can email you the information she sent me if you like (4 pdf docs).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
