i second the recommendation for sungold photography.  paula is very responsive and accommodating.  she was a bit pricey for us, so we are going with one of the associates, but paula has still given me first class service.

Thank you so much for all those suggestions, Ashley! After discussing it with the TA I am working with, Gran Bahia really does sound like the best option. The only downfall she could really give me was the hour and a half travel from the airport to GBP but she said it is worth it! I am very close to securing a date and I will definitely update as soon as I do and join the GBP thread :) I'm excited to have some sort of confirmation on something so I can at least relax a little!

If you're looking for photographer suggestions, I'm personally going with Sungold Photography.  They are a little pricey but I thought they were worth it.  You can have a look at their website if you want  www.sungoldphoto.com  Paula and Damian have been fantastic to deal with through email and over the phone.

Keep us posted on what resort you pick.  If you end up choosing Gran Bahia you should definitely join the thread that's over 190 pages already that I believe Jaykay or Dutchie had mentioned.  The ladies on there are fabulous and the information is so helpful!

Once we picked our resort, the GBP:) and our date and time, things seemed to really settle down and the stress almost went away!

Our TA said the resort is about 60km from the airport, and therefore about an hour drive.  My aunt just got back from the GBP Jamaica and said the drive was a little less then an hour, which isn't bad!

I just need to get a date and time and I should feel a little less stressed :) well until I have to send out STDs! Oh that's not terrible, it really did seem like the best option after constantly researching all the rest in terms of value, price, and the wedding in general! I'm sure I will be following you, JayKay to see all of your posts and I can't wait to hear all about your big day!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
