Iberostar Rose Hall SUITES - Jamaica 2012

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!  So far I have my STDs sent, hotel rooms blocked (but no one but me and FI have reserved), photographer Marcia E. Roberts booked, dress ordered, and floral arrangements basically figured out with Tai Flora.  I've heard that the hotel's DJ sucks so I am now searching for an outside DJ or other options.  Also looking for a make-up artist and hairstylist.

Leah,

Your wedding is the day after mine. I'm getting married June 9, 2012. I have nothing done besides dress and of course my guests have booked I am planning of having 50 so far. Still haven't decided on flowers yet and don't know if they have my colors for chairs. I am not going with that photographer I am bringing my own and he is fantastic. So now the stree is trying to get a hold of the wedding coordinators there since they drag on replying to emails.

Hi Maria!

I'm actually getting married at the Grand, but I'm sure I'll see you around since I'll have several guests staying at the Suites.  As of now I've got my dress ordered (it's scheduled to arrive in early April), the STDs went out in late October, and my invitations are designed and set to go out in the next week or 2 (although we already have several people booked based on the STD info).  I hired a local photographer (Brian Nejedly...he's actually from Atlanta, but now lives in Ocho Rios).  And I'm now trying to figure out the flowers/decorations.  I received a few quotes from local florists and they're all very high for the really simple design that I want.  So I'm trying to find a wholesale florist in Montego Bay or figure out a different approach to bring the costs down.  But I figure I have plenty of time to work that out.  I plan on doing OOT bags as well, but I've made no progress on those...just lots of ideas of what I want to include in them.

Hello to all the wonderful brides!!

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only nerve-racked bride, tho my wedding will be on November 26, 2012 I can't help being a little antsy embarrest.gif

I have been emailing the coordinators with questions and getting very little from them unless I call which is still a little difficult, I'm sure it is only because the wedding is far away . . .

Has anyone encountered any problems with extending the time for their reception?

We have sent out our STD & now are looking for a photographer, florist & DJ.

Reading everyones posts has been very helpful.

Thank you everyone for sharing!

Liz :]

Let me know if you have any luck on florists. Im running into the same problem, they are so high. We were going to do out of town bags but we have decided to host a huge bbq at a forest preserve when we return from our honeymoon. This will be for all the guests that attended our wedding and for those that couldnt make it. I am also thinking of bringing my chair bows since my colors are coral and aqua and would like to see some color incorporated, that is just too much white.

Hi Jade,

I am using Godfrey Guy too but he is charging me $1200 for the flowers for my centerpieces, huppa and boquets. I am using 6 centrpices and 6 boquets but I am providing my own vases and candles. He i charging me $85 for my boquet and $65 for each of the bridesmaids boquet. I was just wondering if he is charging me too much/

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
