Iberostar Rose Hall SUITES - Jamaica 2012

Recommended Posts

I went with our local travel agent and for the end of February 2012, she got us rooms at $225 per person, double occupancy ($450/room). I'm not sure what rates everyone else got, but I would suggest a travel agent. If you did get high rates with a travel agent, you might want to clarify...there could have been a misunderstanding somewhere. Otherwise tell him/her what you're finding online. Travel agents should usually get better deals.

Hope that helps!

I too am working through a TA.  We have been looking mostly at package prices through Funjet or Apple.  I know with both of these programs you can get a best price guarentee so if you find it cheaper a month after booking you call up the TA tell them what you found and then you should get that price.

I talked to my ta and they don't price match. I'm so worried about going into contract w/her just in case not everyone books through her or not everyone books at the Suites.  I think I'm going to try some of these online travel places and call to see if they do any group stuff. I was looking at CheapCarribean and they do seem to have some type of agreement w/TA. Thanks for all the feedback everyone :)

I am in the same boat as you!  It looks like the tour operators are only offering price matching for  non-group bookings at specific resorts up until April 30, 2012 and conditions apply.  Right now I am trying to find out if the price match promotion will continue.  I guess this is a waiting game.

We also went with a TA.  At first she said that she couldn't price match, but I found a great deal online and she was able to match it because no one had booked yet.  We now have 19 people booked, so I think our days of price matching might be over since we are locked into a group deal.  We also had our contract read that we only needed 10 rooms to achieve the group rate.  We are already at 8 booked with a year to go, so I don't think getting the 10 will be a problem.

Hey ladies! I'm thinking of getting married at IRHS in June 2013!  I know I'm early, but we are hoping to book our date by the end of the summer.  Any suggestions or advice?  I love the idea of having the wedding at the suites but y FI and I staying at the grand.  Are they close enough that it will feel like we are on the same property as the rest of our guests?

Hi there!  I'm getting married at the Suites on 7/7/12 and am using a travel agent to reserve a room block and assist guests with airfare if they so choose.  I chose to go with a travel agent because I did not want the headache of having guests treat ME like a travel agent.  In addition, the TA was able to get us incentives for number of guests/rooms booked (i.e. - 15 rooms booked = free cocktail hour, 25 rooms booked = 4 free nights for the bride/groom, etc.).  Finally, even though guests may be paying a little more than they would on Expedia, they DO have the option of a payment plan when they book through the TA. This way, their rate is locked in and there is no pressure to have the entire amount up front just to reserve a rate.  And with the ability to pay in increments I think a lot more people will make the effort to come.

Thanks & Congrats to everyone on here :)

We are using a TA also, it's much easier and I have found it to be cheaper than any online travel sites. Plus like what was said you get the advantage of payment plans and locked in rates and group discounts. Definitely the way to go!

I am very excited about IRHS, our wedding is set for June 23, 2012! However, I think our wedding it going to be unlike many of the weddings of other brides on here. It's funny I'm pretty girly, but I just don't need all the wedding stuff! We just wanted to get married on the beach, the flowers, decorations and all the extra stuff is just not important to me! We couldn't imagine spending that much money on one day..even if it was our wedding day, that's why we chose to get married in Jamaica...you think it would be backwards! cheesy.gif It's not like I need it plain jane but I just don't need or want all the extra expenses of this and that...the beach and my hubby are all I will need!

Congrats to everyone who is getting married...especially to those at the Suites!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
