Villa Weddings Brides - Jamaica!

Recommended Posts

Hi Soon 2B Mrs. G,

I'm having my wedding reception at the same villa in Mobay in December 2011.  . I have 7 months to go. I am having the ceremony at St. James Parish Church.  I have most of my vendors.  The  biggest issue for me was finding a wedding planner who would be able to work with my vision. But I think I have found her. She has been able to give a decent price on the food, drinks and other rentals.  I also had family members assist with getting the entertainment, etc.  I have a question... Do you plan to have a large party? Mine is between 60-70 guests.  And it will be a pool reception. We are looking at building a dance floor over the pool to accommodate the guests. Its not enough room around the pool to navigate.

Hey All!

I'm getting married on the beach at Idle Awhile and then my reception is at Little Waters on the Cliff Villa (both in Negril).

I hired a wedding coordinator, I don't think I could complete all the work without her!

I'm so excited!

soontobemrsg, i'm on the same boat as you.  my fiance and i decided to go for villa wedding.  we chose villa surmer in Negril.  We both wanted our wedding to be more private and intimate. The place that you picked out looks really good!

Happy Planning :)

Hi Ladies!

I just got back from my destination wedding in Jamaica! I didn't choose a "villa" persay but rather a "boutique hotel" for all the same reasons that you listed. Since it was only the two of us, it felt very special to enjoy our special day together. It was perfect! The morning of the wedding we went kayaking, snorkling, and just relaxed together. I couldn't think of a better way to spend my wedding day. I know that it can be stressful with all the planing but let me reassure you that it is MORE then worth it!

Good luck to all of you!

Hey Caterer Bride,

I'm so sorry for the delay.  The fi and I have literally been sleeping for the last couple of days. Jet lag is awful.  Ok, so I totally agree with you on that planner you mentioned (more deets to follow) but I found 2 that I absolutely LOVED! Here is the contact info:

Paulette Harris (she took me to 7 different venues and was totally awesome. She had the flu and still trucked on through to give me several different options.  You can email her @Paulettesdecor@gmail.com. I highly reco (mention Natalie Dixon if you decide to contact) she has a wealth of vendors that she could assist but prepared she's going to ask you a lot of questions so she can get a good idea of what you want.

Norma Ellison @ Events with Elegance: super sweet and very organized but I just didn't choose her.

Events with Elegance www.eventswelegance.com   Now here's some more news, we are currently going back and forth now between Endless Summer & Half Moon (i know - but this resort had a different feel than others plus they provided villas which was a prerequisite for us because we wanted a private affair - check out the Royal Pavillion) but Endless Summer is still on deposit and being held) EEEK decisions diecisions :-(   What else do you need?  3 MONTHS is sooo not enough.  Let me know how I can help.   Always, soon2b

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
