maybe you get them something that doesn't have anything to do with the wedding at all. start with what they're interested in - you mentioned them running the last 10 miles of your marathon with you, what about a $100 gift certificate to a sporting goods store so they can pick out some new shoes? or a day at the spa (either locally or at your destination)? and there are always Victoria's Secret gifts - swimwear, robes, lotions, etc. you can't go wrong.

I also like the idea of framed pictures. as a post-wedding thank you. after you're home, you could send them a professional photo of yourselves together taken at the wedding.

if you want to stick with the destination theme, there are LOTS of ideas on another thread: coach passport cover, a BM bikini, terry chair cover with pockets, jewelry, sarongs, pashmina wraps, luggage tags, etc.

i've been in a few weddings and have gotten either nothing or earings for their wedding (which were nice, but i'll never wear again) so when i was picking out what to get my bridesmaids i thought of what i would like, if i were in their shoes.

i got them each a "flip" camcorder with an under water case, i figured since we will be going to mexico for the wedding they will be able to use it there, and they both travel alot so they would get a lot of use out of it.

i waited for them to go onsale and they were just over $100 each!

That's an AWESOME gift! I remember that the Today Show gave them away to an engaged couple for their wedding favors, and I thought it was amazing. (Unfortunately I had 7 girls to shop for, and couldn't spend that much on each one =P )

hey ladies - I was at a multi-million dollar lakehouse over the weekend, and they had these AMAZING, sturdy coasters with photos of local places. they can even make custom coasters from your own photos. the website is here:

my MOH and I met in college here at UT, and certain places will always hold such great memories for us - especially now that she's living in Dallas. I thought it would be great to get her some Austin coasters for her place. she is definitely the type who has everything, so this will be perfect!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
