Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

Our wedding is Feb 21. We went down last month for our tastings (Canapes for the cocktail hour and Cake). Since we opted for the buffet we didn't get a chance to taste the food that will be served at dinner. We are doing the BBQ Buffet. Which did you do?

We are using the recommended photographer from the hotel, Daniel Gastaldi. He did our engagement photos while we were there for the tasting and we were very happy with them. He is very reasonably priced after shopping around and including the per head charge the hotel will charge for outside vendors.

We are also having the photo booth and cigar roller for our reception. Anyone else have experience with that?

What have you all decided to do for ceremony music? I know that I will walk to Israel K's Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World. We're having a hard time deciding on a song for my hubs. We aren't going to have a wedding party since we are only expecting about 25 guests. I'm concerned that the 5 songs they are asking us to bring will be too much.

We chose the sushi board, guacamole, cheese truffles, mini roast beef sandwiches and the beef kabobs. They were all very good at the tasting. We especially liked the chipotle cheese truffles. Which ones did you choose? Our cake will be tres leches.

When you have time after your wedding I'd love to hear your review of the BBQ Buffett. Your day will be here very soon! Congrats.

I will def share about the bbq buffet, we did make a few changes though we are doing chicken fajitas instead of pork sausage, and we are doing mexican rice, shrimp ceviche, tortillas and salsas instead of golden corn salad, cucumber salad, potato salad and tomato salad

Wow!  This is so helpful! I am relieved that the hair & make-up went well. Great pictures too! I think we will go with a reception near the pool after seeing those photos and not needing a dance floor.

Cancun Girl- did you physically bring all your decorations to the resort or did you ship anything to Lis?  I would like to add a few of my own decorations, but don't want the hassle of packing so much.  We plan to travel after the wedding and definitely don't want to haul things around on our honeymoon.

We are getting married there 10-4-2014, so we have time for decisions.  That is great to hear Lis will accommodate your centerpieces too.  She had sent me a pdf of some of the centerpieces and I didn't fall in love with them, but thought I could make them work. I will definitely send her some photos of what I would like.  Also, great to hear that the music technician worked out well! We were thinking of hiring a DJ, but planned on brining our own music anyway.  We went to a wedding at a resort last year in Playa del Carmen & their DJ just kept playing the same songs that we had heard all week by the pool.

We are also going with the BBQ buffet.  I know I will want to get through dinner quicker and get to dancing.

We also want to do a catamaran or sometime of boat cruise for our guests the evening before the wedding.  Does anyone have any experience with this or recommendations on vendors?

Aqua World is directly across he street from the hotel and they have employees on site at the hotel to help you. You can find them in the towel kiosk by the cevicheria. My experience with them was bad but we went deep sea fisihing and they took us out with 9 foot swells. The entire boat was sick all day. :-/  BUT they do offer a 2 hour lagoon cruise that includes your drinks and it only cruises around the lagoon so it wouldn't be rough. The prices are reasonable and they will work with you for a group rate.

Hi Nanfa-

I did not mail anything down.  Figured it would probably end up being more expensive than taking an extra suitcase.  My dad actually took a large suitcase filled with my decorations, etc.  My mother-in-law and two aunts took some fragile items in their carry-on bags.  So I would just ask guests/family members to take small things for you.  We booked our catamaran thru one of the beach vendors that walks around with a binder of activities.  It worked out great.  The lady at the Aquaworld kiosk by the pool is kind of rude and we got a better deal from the guys on the beach anyways.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
