Slow, slow response time from Jamaican vendors?

Recommended Posts

I know that people are more laid-back in Jamaica and always hear that they are on "island time". To be honest, I get so frustrated with our wedding coordinator and vendors -- who all seem to take weeks to respond to emails. It's frustrating when we're trying to make monetary-related decisions and need their feedback or information. Do I just need to accept and live with this slow response time? If you're a vendor on this forum, please consider that this slow response time is not typical in most professions.

Yes, I believe we all have experienced the same thing. But it seems as though all the brides agree that once they are there the coordinators are on-top of everything. personally, I would rather have them focused on me during my wedding then answering tons of email and phone calls regarding upcoming weddings.

Take a deep breathe and relax.  :)  I know it gets frustrating when you just have a simple question to be answered and it takes a while to get the response.  Just try to remember the reason you're having a DW... a lot less stressful!!!  Honestly, there isn't much you need to do until you actually get down there and meet with the WC a couple days before.  They do this day in and day out with hundreds of brides to "deal" with!  No Worries Mon!  Besides, that's what this forum is for... ask away!!!  Odds are there are many brides on this forum who can answer your questions!

If you need a WC/vendor that responds right away, then perhaps change resorts/vendors or even the island!  But trust me, your wedding will be perfect even though it takes 3-7 days to get a response.

Relax, you're getting married in paradise to the man of your dreams!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
