Bridesmaid Photo Shoot

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have been trying to think of a great way to thank my Bridesmaids and MOH's for flying out and being apart of my wedding day. I was thinking of having a photoshoot done on the beach or at the spa on the morning of the wedding with all the girls, maybe some not so much boudoir but sexy photos of each girl separately and then all of us together since how often do you get all of your BFF's together. And then they can purchase an entire album if they want or just a few photos and I will definitely get some of the photos for each girl to keep. Thoughts on this? has anyone done this? I was thinking maybe get bathing suits that said something cute on the butt for the pics or bridesmaid/bride stuff....any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Brit

P.S. I am getting married at the Hard Rock in Dominican Republic! I think this will make a great backdrop for these type of photos!

I think thats a neat idea.  Before you go and spend all the money I would ask them how they feel about it, then that way you know if they would even be willing to purchase the pictures or not.  I would hate for you to put so much work and money into it and them not want to buy any pictures!

I like this idea too! I think it would be fun as a surprise. Personally I know some of my girls would be up for something like that if they had a couple of drinks in them first.. so maybe a sunset photo shoot instead of in the morning?? lol.. Depends on their personalities though! :)

I think the photo shoot is a fun idea - but I would caution you against going the extra step and buying swim suits for them.  A lot of women are self conscious about their bodies in bathing suits, so either they might feel more comfortable in one of their own (which they would have selected to look best on their body type) or they might even prefer to do the photo shoot in fun (or sexy) dresses.  Regardless of what they are wearing, I am sure they will find the photo shoot to be a ton of fun!

Good point - what about doing cute coverups or those little satin housecoat thingies (pretty sure that is not actually what they are called ha!) and they can wear their own swimsuits underneath; that would be super sexy and fun!

You know your girls though - if you think they would be in it, then you are probably right. I think it would be really fun and it is such a sweet idea! What great keepsakes!

Thanks everyone for all of your input! I actually am treating all of my guests to a snorkeling trip and boat cruise so I bought the girls matching bikinis for that and will just have friends do photos of us. I don't want to plan too much and take up everyones time so I decided against the photoshoot. Fortunately, I bought all of my girls dresses so I know their sizes and was able to get the bathing suits, they are just black tie bottoms and black bandeau tops with a gold heart in the middle. I hope they fit everyone! None of my girls are overweight ( I think I'm the only one hoping to drop a few lbs before the wedding!) lol so I think the bathing suits are a pretty safe choice. Hope they like um! I did that, their dresses, beach bags, and jewelry...so I think I'm done spending money! :)

Thanks again!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
