I had to email them twice. They're hard to track down especially now that it's wedding season for them. Stick with it!

Hello All,

I really enjoyed reading the threads on regarding Dream Palm Beach Brides (this new one and the old one) and congratulations to all the brides & grooms to be out there :-). We visited Dominican Republic a few times and heard nothing but good things about Dreams Palm Beach. We confirmed with our WC about a week ago (deposit accepted and all) for April 12th, 2012 at 5:30pm. Does anyone know of a good photographer in the area, or have any leads on a good photographer?? Right now, we are just going back and forth with sales department on trying to get a group rate on our guest.

Thanks All,

Vee

Hello All -

First of let me say congrats to all brides to be and that I really enjoy the thread (very insightful). I confirmed my date for April 14th, 2012 and have been working with WC Mercy Aquino. I'm so excited, but kind of on the fence with ceremony being in gazebo or beach? Gazebo gives you a little bit of privacy but the views of the ocean are just amazing. Question: Has anyone been in talks or book a photographer?? Any suggestion on one?

Thanks

Hello Everyone!

Congrats to all the Brides to Be!!  I am so glad that I found this forum!  My fiance and I decided to move our wedding up 6 months so instead of having ayear to plan I only have 6 months...  We've already booked our stay at Dreams Palm Beach thru our travel agent.  She told me to fax them the dates to reserve our date for January 12, 2012 at 2:30 pm.  I sent it about a week ago and no one has yet to email me back.  I was really torn between the gazebo wedding or a beach wedding but after looking at some of the photos, I'm definitely sold on the beach wedding.  I know some of you ladies were looking at booking HDC as the photographer... have any of you confirmed as if so how much do they charge?  and do they do a "Trash the Dress" session?

Is anyone from Canada also getting married there or does anyone know of anyone who has gotten married in DR from Canada?  Someone from the resort told us that we have to send our documents to Texas to get translated in Spanish.  I called Vital Statistics as I wanted to know if Canada and specifically Manitoba would consider a Marriage Certificate in Spanish vaild.  They told me that I have to go and spending more money on translating the documents back to English...Total Cash GRAB if you ask me.  Anyways does anyone know of any place in Canada that can translate it into Spanish?

Can anyone comment on the Resort itself?  I unfortunately went onto trip advisor after I booked thru my travel agent and I saw some disturbing pictures of mold in the bathrooms and stuff.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all those pictures were before the renos.  Anyone else concerned about it as well?

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey - I have been on a Med cruise for the past 2 weeks (which was AMAZING) I got my confirmation from DPB while I was away.... for April 20th at 3pm!! So excited - now the fun begins!! I have spoken to Mercy a few times by email but my WC is Luz Franco...not sure if this is a man or woman...lol.

We have chosen to go with the garden gazebo as my future hubby will be in his kilt and we both hate sand in our shoes!!

Hi Ladies,

Has anyone heard anything about streaming live video of DPB weddings for at home friends and family?  I know on the website, they said that they were heading in that direction, but nothing yet.  Does anybody have any inside track on this one?
Thanks!
Melissa

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
