jillbu11 - You'll be getting married one day after I do! Congrats!!!

The one thing that I still haven't gotten a good answer for is the beach set up. The packages say that the beach area is included however the extras menu say there's a price for setup. When I've asked they've said that the chairs are included. So what all is included in the packages for the beach?

Spaterson, congrats to you too!!!!!  That is awesome we will be there for each otherâ€s weddings!

As far as the beach set up, I am just guessing maybe they do some flowers or bows on the chairs or something??  I donâ€t think I have been officially set up with a WC yet. I emailed a few questions to someone before I chose Dreams.  Do you guys know who your WC is??

I think your WC is going to change throughout the whole planning process. When I was at the resort I spoke to Awilda. I have sent all my emails to her, but sometimes I have Melani respond to them. I know Mercy is also a coordinator. As long as you have your date set, you should be ok. A lot of the detailed planning happens a week before you arrive, and when you actually arrive and sit down with one of the WC's.

I've gotten emails back from Awilda but I'm not counting on her being the only WC I enteract with.

So what your wedding plans? What are you envisioning?

I think we'll end up having around 30 people... although at times I'm wondering if I'm being hopelessly optomistic and in reality will only have 6. However it works out I want to get married on the beach. I want flowy fabrics, slightly relaxed atmosphere but not bathing suit attire relaxed. I'm thinking of keeping the white chair covers but then changing the ribbons to shades of blue/green. I want to have the reception on that little island thing in the pool. I've heard amazing things about receptions there. I'd like to go with a peacock theme of sorts and really bring in the bright blues, teal, hints of purple,etc... I have the ideal place setting in mind but no clue how much it would cost me to replicate with the chargers, napkins, etc... So I'm trying to think of cost effective ways to bring the theme to life. I'm thinking white flowers with some peacock feathers sticking out, perhaps teal table runners... Still thinking and dreaming....

My travel agent informed me today that there was some mix up I guess and May 19th is not available, so we are going to try now to get May 17th, so we will see…..

As far as wedding plans we are only inviting close friends and immediate family.  We want to keep it small.  I made boarding pass invites which are turquoise and brown, so my bridesmaids†dresses are gonna be turquoise as well.  I also want to have the ceremony at that gazebo and a poolside reception.  This is the only part that I worry about…getting the reception location since you cannot reserve it ahead of time.  I saw in the wedding info that you can have a beach bonfire, I would like to have that maybe as a welcome kind of gathering for my guests.  So excited, cant wait til next May!!!!!

*waves* Hi everyone! I'm new!

I'm in the process of confirming a June 15th, 2012 wedding with DPB. I sent in my request form and CC auth form a couple hours ago by e-mail. Mercy has been responding to my e-mails thus far, quickly I might add.

I saw those photos of the (flags? sheets?) hanging from the palm trees and fell in love. Mercy said the only ceremony decorations that comes included in the "free" package are the white chair covers and ceremonial table, which is fine with me.. I'm not really into bows, or arbors, or what not. But those sheet things from the palms? GORGEOUS! BRILLIANT! I'm dying to know if that bride rented those, or just brought them herself (what material? where? who had to tie them to the trees?!) What a clean, crisp look. Love it!

Also... I'm a total budget bride. Anyone else out there bankrolling this thing themselves? We need to share ideas. I'm definitely going to go for the semi-private dinner, but what after? Would it be fun just go to the disco? Has anyone seen the bonfire thing? I'm only going to have about 20 guests so, it's not a total big deal if I don't pull out all the stops, but I still want to have a WEDDING and have FUN!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to stalking this thread for the next year or so...!

Hi Scarlet Bride!

Those sheets/sheers are all provided by the resort at an extra cost of course.

I also got the chance to see a bonfire on the beach. It was pretty cool. It gets a little windy on the beach, so it was a little out of control but fun lol

Ps...let me know when you receive the official confirmation/credit card charge. I am waiting for mine. I just want to be able to book my flight, but can't until they give me my official confirmation.

Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
