Thats exactly what I was thinking!!  I'd rather take chilly in Jamaica then snow in Canada!

I'm from Ontario, so not quite as cold as Alberta, so I know what you mean.

However, I did go to Mexico over new years two years ago and the evenings were chilly (needed another layer).

I can handle putting on another layer, sure beats a winter jacket, snow pants, touque, mittens, scarf, and winter boots!!  Not to mention scraping windows and shoveling snow...yeah I think another layer sounds alright to me!

Hi Girls --

In my opinion, and having traveled to JA many many times because my parents are Jamaican, Dec-April is still the best time to travel to JA. Summers are nice too - but I booked in March because the daytime was sunny and mid-80s and evenings were low 70s with a breeze....perfection. That way, you can still dance the night away without everyone looking sweaty in all your photos! ;)

I got a GREAT tan when I was in Montego Bay during the 2nd wk of March just this year.

I've been to Jamaica 4 times previous...once in Nov...once in Jan...once in April...and once end of May!  I have to say that from my experience, Nov - early April was beautiful! All warm days and never had to layer at all! Was able to go to the beach every single day and wear tanks/summer dresses all the time! Occasionally threw on a pashmina at night, but that was it! And there were definitely a few instances when we were seeking shade or AC!! When I went in May it was WAY too hot for us...we didn't want to do excursions or move! It was just too hot!  This speaking as a Canadian who is not used to such intense heat!!!  That's why we went with January as well!  Our guests also weren't keen on travelling in the spring/summer when the weather starts to pick up here!!

So I would 100% vote for the November - March/early April time frame!  You can't go too far wrong!

Heya!

I guess it truly is a hit and miss - I went to Ocho Rios, 3rd week of this past March and it was extremly windy all week. Chilly winds :( the last 3 days the overcast cleared up. I ended up deciding to book last week of April 2012 in hopes of getting more of the hot weather.

So let's just send positive thoughts to all those having a DW that their week is PERFCT :o) <3

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
