Riu-Montego Bay

Recommended Posts

wow so much info!  I am so glad I found this site.  Getting married at RMB in Dec 2012!  I have seen a couple people mention Stacey Clark for pics?? I have only info about the one through the resort....I am doing a very small private ceremony.  Only 4 guests, my fiance and I and our 3 children....I don't want to spend that much on photography?  or do I?

Gettinready, the answer to you photography question is, YES, you do want to spend the money, IF it is in your budget.  I'm sure Jwed will agree with me when I say that Stacey Clarke was the best investment that we made.  Check out our wedding slide show.   At the end of the day, this(and a ton more photos) are what we have to remember our wedding day!

@jwed, Riu Montego Bay was not even on my radar until I stumbled upon your review. Your wedding looks absolutely beautiful! My fiance and I are in the early stages of planning and are hoping to do a site visit and June to decide on a venue. The Riu is one of our top 3. How many guests did you have? I really have my heart set on a full, private reception but dont want to be stuck paying a fortune.

@kaitstr I'm so glad the review was helpful! We ended up with about 50 people total at the wedding. When you're looking at wedding packages offered by the resorts, make sure you look at how many guests the packages account for. For example, the free wedding package is only for like 4 guests. We went with the Caprice package and reserved the Mahoe Bay Steakhouse for the reception. I highly recommend it :)

Congratulations jrob!  I got married at RMB last June, and my husband and I are going back this June to celebrate our 1 year anniversary.  Planning our anniversary trip reminded me of how much fun I had when I was planning my wedding, so I thought I would drop in and see what's goin on over here.  My wedding review post is hanging around somewhere on this website, and if you have any questions feel free to send me a message!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
