Hey everyone! Our wedding plans are finally coming together, with a date of 2/2/12! Just wondering if any previous brides who had a LEGAL ceremony at the RIU Palace could sum up what the ceremony was like. Is the ceremony in Spanish or are they able to translate to English? Do most brides do a sand ceremony/how does it work? Do they actually do the whole "do you take this man, I do, etc." like a traditional wedding? Lots of uncertainties for sure :) Any information would be super helpful! And congrats to all of you :) Hope you are having as much fun as I am with this process!

Hi!! The palace is BEAUTIFULL!! They perform the ceremony in English and they actually have 3 options of locations if they are available for your date. They have on the beach, which is really great bc its kind of remote and off the beaten path, they also have two built in archway type of deals that are also pretty. I would particularly do the one to the far left as that is private as well. The other one is on the far right and the RIu Santa Fe pool is on the side of it and is only divided by bushes but people can still see in… I think too they are pretty flexible with vows and as long as you communicate your needs/wants and have it pretty written out they can follow it. are you locked in for that date? Both of the Riu’s fill up pretty quick, you can get in touch with the WC and she can answer more specific questions. We had a full tour of the palace and as I loved the grounds we decided to go next door to the RIU Santa FE. 1. It’s cheaper for guests 2. Its newer  Both places cost the same for the wedding but its on average 300-500 more expensive to stay at the Palace so I guess if you feel like money is not a problem then go with the palace (the rooms I thought were better at the santa fe though).  Hope that helps! The W’C’s are very friendly and helpful and will work with you for what you want and vision for that day. You will do it all via email and the crazy thing is usually a month or two before the wedding. After my date was confirmed I said I need to know what to expect so I can be thinking about things and then I guess if you don’t want anything until that time I will send it to you then… its worked out really well!! There is not too much info about either RIu on here as you will see J

We're having a legal ceremony at Cabo del Sol and it's my understanding that it will be performed by a judge in Spanish. Also, I don't think his words can be altered in any way. We hired reverend Marco to translate and to give a more personal ceremony following the legal vows. Instead of the sand ceremony we are doing a hand ceremony which is quite beautiful, I'm sure you can find it on this forum if you do a quick search. Good Luck and Congrats!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
