Is it tacky??

I have a big Italian family...we are all crazy in one way or another LOL.

My situation got a little difficult because I had ZERO intention of having an AHR but then my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer last January and we didn't know what to do...she ended up not coming to my wedding...long story made short, I came home, there was zero interest about my wedding or doing anything at home so I said to hell with it!  I'm happy with how my wedding played out :)

Although, my FI has indicated he does not want to have a AHR...no one in my family has brought it up yet...(although I have only been engaged almost 2 months - LOL!)  Praying it doesn't.

If I were to?  DANG STRAIGHT I'd wear my dress again....I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

  • 2 months later...

To hell with people passing judgement. I don't think it's tacky and if they don't like it then they don't have to come!

We're having a post wedding party - I'm calling it a Reception but not actually doing a proper sit down meal or anything so I guess it's more of a drink up with a buffet than a reception. BUT I am most definitely wearing the dress again. It cost a fortune and I love it. I don't think I will ever own or wear anything so expensive ever again, and I suspect I will sell it after the AHR so wearing it twice is a true bonus. If I thought I could wear it down my local pub I probably would, although I suspect I would probably get looked at ever so slightly strangely if I did that! What do you think?! :)

I am wearing my dress again and having my bridal party wear their attire, as well.  I do not think it is tacky at all I think it is a gesture as many of your friends and family did not get to see you in your dress on your actual wedding day.

For favors giving everyone a photo from our DW 4x6 photo folders personalized " Carolyn & Matthew Sutton Established February 9, 2013"  Found a great deal on Amazon on the photo folders.  :)

As far as etiquette goes, I say screw etiquette! I personally wanted a destination wedding so I wouldn't have to follow all kinds of rules. I'm going to wear my dress to McDonald's if I want. After the AHR, I might wear it when I clean the house too :D

"I'm going to wear my dress to McDonald's if I want." I love it! So cute!

We are having an AHR this Saturday! I just dropped my dress of at the cleaners so wearing my dress is out unless I go grab it back from her. I'm trying like mad to find and appropriate dress white dress that does not cost to much (to much for me is anything over $200). All the really cute white dresses are basically like buying another wedding dress. I'm considering just picking my dress up from the cleaners! It would be pretty, it fits like a glove (or custom tailored dress - because it is :) and I wouldn't have to worry about what to wear.

Haha - I love the idea of wearing my dress down to McDonalds. Would looove to see people's reaction. Maybe I'll start wearing it to pick my son up from nursery - that would get all the other mums talking.

My dad was not able to make it to our Mexico wedding. The AHR is a great way to include him in the festivities. He is very excited about it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
