I didn't have a say in my ring choice, but he did have a good idea of what I wanted. I was at a doctor's office where the nurse had the most beautiful ring I had ever seen! She said it was an antique ring. When I got home I told my boyfriend at the time about this amazing ring that I had seen. He actually went to that doctor's office and found the nurse that had just gotten engaged and looked at the style of ring! He found out that it was a filigree style. So when he went to get the ring, he got a vintage ring with filigree and added a diamond. I absolutely love it and I like that he picked it out. It was a big risk though! He's really lucky I like it because I am extremely picky when it comes to jewelry. Maybe you should take him to stores, show him what you like and let him pick it out!

I picked out my ring too - I'm pretty picky so I knew I wanted to be part of it and my fiance was more than willing to let me do the work.  We went to the jewelry store, he sat in a chair with his iPhone while I shopped.  I tried on a lot of different style trying to keep an open mind but ultimately ended up with what I always thought I would get - a princess cut solitaire in a modern classic band.  I LOVE my ring.  I don't wear a lot of jewelry so I really didn't know much beyond that.  I assumed around a carat but ended up with 1.25 which seems to fit perfectly in the setting.  We also got a high quality stone.  When I heard the price I kept telling my fiance that he can get a lesser diamond - I was OK with that, but he just went with it. Every once in awhile he asks "did I get you a big enough ring?"

As much as I love my ring, I'm realizing its a little struggle to get a band to match. I don't want a lot of bling on the band but I don't want a plain one either.  Most of the bands with a few diamonds are round and of course I don't want that to clash with the square e-ring.  I need to look some more this weekend but will probably end up going with the one to match the e-ring which is more than I wanted to spend, but I'd hate to settle on something that doesn't look right that I will be wearing every day for the rest of my life.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
