Wow! Congratulations, it sounds like you have a lot covered!  Love the dresses too!  Are you going with a group rate for your guests, or allowing them to book separately?  Congratulations again, and your rings sounds gorgeous!

Hi! I had no idea this site existed, but so glad I stumbled on it! We're hoping to get married on May 28th 2012 (after planning for a couple weeks to do Nov 11th 2011...way too stressful!). We'd like to get married in the Cancun/Riviera area and are looking at the Now Jade or Sapphire, Dreams Riviera or Tulum or the Beach or Cancun Palace.  I saw posts for brides who booked Cancun Beach and Dreams Riviera Cancun.  May I ask what helped make the decision for you?  Does anyone have feedback on the Now resorts?

Thank you so much!

HI Ladies! Congrats on all your upcoming weddings! I am trying to pick a resort in the Riviera Maya for May 2012. I have narrowed it down to 3 resorts but I am so overwhelmed and time is flying. I feel so behind schedule with booking a place and sending out STDs. Now the WC at one of the resorts near Playa del Carmen told me that they cannot have beach cocktail hours or receptions from Late April to November because the music and lights disturb the sea turtles laying eggs. Have any of you heard this from resorts? I am trying to figure out if this goes for the entire coast of Riviera Maya or just this specific resort. I was so excited to have a beach reception with 65 guests and am really upset hearing this news. If any of you have suggestions that would be great! Thanks!

I understand how you are feeling! I got so obsessed with the research that I couldn't make the commitment! But you have to take a week and just tell yourself I got to make the decision! I had it down to 3 places in Punta Cana and I started narrowing it down by...who responded to my emails in a timely manner. What resort gave me the best price and most info. Trust me you need good communication when planning from afar. As for the sea turtles I feel so bad for you but I'm an animal lover and that's so cute!! lol I love that the resort takes it soo seriously! I have been to Riveria Maya a couple times but never during that time so I can't be much help. Did you google it? I would definitely ask other resorts what their policy is. Are you set for a mexico wedding? would you be willing to consider a different location so you can get your date? Hope that helps girl!!

O my other advice is starting working on your STDs.  This way once you make your decision you can go ahead and order them right away!!!  Best of luck! It will all come other soon and its the best feeling ever!!

Sorry to hear that!!!  You wedding is most impt so if you want a beach reception/cocktails then you stick to it and find a different resort who doesn't have that problem, maybe where sea turtles aren't around their beach.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
